[Bug 1642679] Re: The OpenStack network_config.json implementation fails on Hyper-V compute nodes

2017-01-27 Thread Scott Moser
Hi,
I'm going to mark this as verification-done as the original opener has not been
able to do that, unfortunately. The change that went in for this fix can be
seen at [1]. It is exactly the change that is in trunk, zesty, and also
verified in stable release 16.04.

If it turns out that some interaction with yakkety made it *not* work,
then we can re-address that.

If an sru team member wishes to disagree with my argument above, please
just set it back to verification-needed, and I will attempt to get
someone to do that.

Scott

[Bug 1659869] [NEW] Page header and focus behaviour

2017-01-27 Thread Renato Araujo Oliveira Filho
Public bug reported:

We have been discussing on IRC about the focus path on page header->
page-contents.

Some apps require a fine tuning on the focus path for the header buttons
and contents. This is not possible today since we do not have access to
all header objects (only actions).

Another problem is that the page first receive focus on your contents
and after the header. This can be annoying if the focus starts on the
header because the focus go to another page before enter on page
contents (check img0.png). would be nice to allow apps to choose which
is the desired focus paths between pages and headers. (something like
img1.png)

And in the end would be nice to have a AdaptativePageLayout method to
allow user to access a page pages on index or something else in case of
the user want to move focus to a different page in the stack.

[Bug 1659869] Re: Page header and focus behaviour

2017-01-27 Thread Tim Peeters
I agree about the focus order within a page (not sure which page should
have focus first though). But I think this will be valid for all apps,
so we don't need to make it configurable, just fix the current focus
order.

Can we get feedback from design on this?

[Bug 1659869] Re: Page header and focus behaviour

2017-01-27 Thread Renato Araujo Oliveira Filho
** Description changed:

We have been discussing on IRC about the focus path on page header->
  page-contents.

Some apps require a fine tuning on the focus path for the header buttons
and contents. This is not possible today since we do not have access to
  all header objects (only actions).

Another problem is that the page first receive focus on your contents
and after the header. This can be annoying if the focus starts on the
header because the focus go to another page before enter on page
contents (check img0.png). would be nice to allow apps to choose which
is the desired focus paths between pages and headers. (something like
  img1.png)

And in the end would be nice to have a AdaptativePageLayout method to
- allow user to access a page pages on index or something else in case of
+ allow user to access a page based on index or something else in case of
the user want to move focus to a different page in the stack.

[Bug 1659869] Re: Page header and focus behaviour

2017-01-27 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
Yes, for each panel in a window, focus should go through that panel’s
header, then to the panel body (so you can select something in it if
it’s a list, or else just scroll through it), then to the panel footer
if there is one (such as the “Write a message” field). That should
happen without any effort by the app developer.

So as long as there are no messages in the message pane, focus should
flow as shown in Renato’s “expected focus path” illustration, and the
only thing the app developer should need to specify is that the “To:”
field is focused by default (otherwise the thread list would be). Once
there are messages in the message pane (for example, you’ve entered a
recipient who has previous messages), the message pane should join the
focus cycle.

I'm trying 4.4.0-58-lowlatency right now, the kernel I was using

After I test that one I'll try with the latest v4.4 as suggested.

[Bug 1659884] [NEW] Pulling down indicators should exit fullscreen

2017-01-27 Thread Olivier Tilloy
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

 1) On a touch device, browse to
http://blogs.sitepointstatic.com/examples/tech/full-screen/index2.html and tap
on the squirrel to make it go fullscreen
 2) Pull down the indicators bar (partially or completely)

Expected result: the browser (when loosing active focus) exits
fullscreen mode

Current result: it doesn’t exit fullscreen mode.

This works as expected in OTA-14 (the latest stable image as of this
writing) but not in rc-proposed, and the most likely change that would
have introduced this regression is support for multiple windows:
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~phablet-team/webbrowser-
app/trunk/revision/1536.

Right, this is a regression in rc-proposed (most likely introduced with
multiple window support), now being tracked by bug #1659884. thanks

white and then black. `sudo service lightdm restart` or `sudo service

[Bug 1659893] [NEW] Clipit Wll Not Run - LM 18 and LM 18.1 KDE

2017-01-27 Thread Tom Sfer
Public bug reported:

Clipit will not run on either LM 18 KDE or LM 18.1 KDE. Installed
Clipit from Terminal (or Synaptic Package Manager). It fails to start,
period. I get a mouse busy indicator when I start from Utilities ->
Clipit. But the application never loads.

It was fine with version LM KDE 17.3. It also works on LM Cinnamon 18
and LM Cinnamon 18.1 as well. I suspect something with the new plasma
desktop on KDE 18. But have not delved into it further.

[Bug 1409166] Re: Popup dialog "could not set the configuration for CRTC 65" steals keyboard, hinders login in 3-monitor configuration

2017-01-27 Thread squigley
After some more research, attempting to use VGA+DP+LVDS is not a valid
configuration. The X230 is missing something (TMDS?) to allow this, even
though the chipset allows it.

X should have a handler for this. If I manually attach the extra
display(s) after logging in, it will restore my config of 2 external
displays and disable the LVDS/internal screen. Attempting to add/re-
enable the LVDS as a 3rd in this configuration fails, but this is due to
the hardware, and it would be nicer to get an explanatory error message
rather than:

"Failed to apply configuration: %s
   Can't add monitor:
GDBus.Error:org.gtk.GDBus.UnmappedGError.Quark._gnome_2drr_2derror_2dquark.Code2:
could not set the configuration for CRTC 65"

So the issue seems to be 1) allowing you to attempt something which
isn't valid, and then giving a not very helpful error message, and 2)
it's not able to catch/trap the error condition of 3 displays attached
prior to attempting to start X, and realising that it can only use 2,
which stops X from starting.

Knowing that the configuration of VGA+DP+LVDS is not valid may not be
something that can be detected, other than by identifying that the model
is an X230 and contains the Intel HD graphics, and not the NVIDIA
graphics (which does include the TMDS or other hardware to enable this
config to work).

(Apparently the way to be able to continue using the internal LVDS
display along with 2 external displays is to not use the VGA port, which
requires that you use the DP on the laptop, and with the laptop in a
docking/station port replicator, have the second external screen
attached via DP on the dock. A 4th screen/3rd external can also
apparently be added with the use of the USB based port replicator, which
contains another display adapter).
