[Bug 1673942] Re: pulseaudio suddenly stops. No dmesg entries. Nothing in the syslog
i think i have narrowed this down to a faulty RAM (in excess of 30K errors). I will replace this shortly and retest but that would explain why a new build and my other desktop with a similar build are unaffected, and why the error conditions are somewhat erratic. Does it explain why the fault disappears when the speakers are plugged into the motherboard sound output versus the sound card though? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1673942 Title: pulseaudio suddenly stops. Your disk is currently partitioned to boot in bios mode, but you booted the installer in EFI mode. A warning message prompted you that this could be a problem and recommended performing a bios mode install instead, but you chose not to. You either need to perform the bios mode install, or partition the disk using GPT and set up an EFI system partition to install in EFI mode. This will be done for you if you choose the "use entire disk" guided install option. ** Changed in: grub-installer (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1675565 Title: I am able to run Ubuntu from my USB and test it, but after I install it onto my Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD, I proceed to restarting the computer and it brings me to the bios with no bootable options. [Bug 1675856] Re: Login with fingerprint not working after reboot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, I don't have a fingerprint reader so I'm not sure how to figure out what's not working here. I'm having trouble understanding your first sentence. Could you try rephrasing? What does "it only loads" mean? When you say this works after suspend, do you have to be logged in for it to work then? After logging in, can you then log out and log in with your fingerprint? Can you find any logs or journal entries about this? [Bug 1668465] Re: weird color display after suspend.
This week, I started getting 1 cm boarders around windows after a suspend. The boarders are white with colored speckles and lines. Hardware is Nvidia Quadro 1000m, with the nvidia 375.39 driver. This driver must have just been updated from the 367.57 driver which never had any problems. Restarting lightdm or logging out then in again fixes the problem. The software updater/additional drivers tab only offers the 375.39 (tested), the 340.102 and the 304.135 Nvidia drivers, not the 367... version. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1668465 Title: weird color display after suspend. [Bug 1672337] Re: [unity8] can't restore an app if you minimize it while a child window, menu or context menu is opened
Looking at the logs, when the top-level surface is minimized its child still keeps focused and in the same state. Not sure if the child should also go to minimized state (probably yes) but I'm sure it should not be kept focused. This looks like a miral bug. ** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Invalid ** Also affects: miral (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1672337 Title: [unity8] can't restore an app if you minimize it while a child window, menu or context menu is opened To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1672337/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
