[Bug 1712441] Re: pacemaker 1.1.17-1ubuntu1 FTBFS

2017-11-03 Thread Nish Aravamudan
I just uploaded

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pacemaker/1.1.18~rc3-1ubuntu1

which has the fix from Debian for the corresponding bug (I'm not sure
why the Debian bug hasn't been closed).

I'm not sure if it's worth SRU'ing it or not. I suppose to artful-
proposed, at least, it is, since the uploaded version is broken there.
I'll see if I can do that shortly.

[Bug 1729736] Re: 10de:1c8c [MSI] Module nouveau fails to manage GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Mobile

2017-11-03 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.14 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1714804] Re: Aardvark Daily: Indicator-Multiload doesn't show full-width

2017-11-03 Thread Colan Schwartz
Because that application was written for the platform that Ubuntu is now
using (Gnome), and the other one wasn't.

Open-source developers' time is in short supply. It doesn't make sense
to spend time porting non-native applications when native applications
already exist that can do the job.

It's tricky for users (us) to switch applications whenever the platform
changes, but that's the price you pay for not building a GNU/Linux
system yourself. Feel free to build and use one that never changes
subsystems. ;)

[Bug 1724215] Re: linux-euclid: 4.4.0-9019.20 -proposed tracker

2017-11-03 Thread Gavin Lin
Certification-testing for Euclid kernel 4.4.0-9019 has been passed, here's the
detailed test result:
https://certification.canonical.com/hardware/201702-25390/submission/124197/

Note that the testing kernel 4.4.0-9019-euclid has to be installed manually
using apt install, apt dist-upgrade won't install it.
And the usb storage tests was passed manually.

[Bug 1729887] [NEW] Drag-and-drop to desktop not possible without copying the file under wayland

2017-11-03 Thread John Does
Public bug reported:

since my upgrade to Ubuntu Desktop 17.10 all files moved with drag-and-
drop from any folder to my desktop are copied but not moved.

Using strg+x and strg+v works. When i open the desktop as a folder usual
drag-and-drop from different folders do work without copying the files.

This is wayland related. Ubuntu Desktop 17.10 with Xorg performs like
before and allows normal drag-and-drop from folders to the desktop.

[Bug 1729886] [NEW] Nautilus takes longer than usual to empty trash

2017-11-03 Thread Prashant L Rao
Public bug reported:

Nautilus usually empties trash in a jiffy on vanilla gnome 3.26 (both on
Ubuntu Artful and on other distros). However, in the Ubuntu session it
takes a fair bit of time (processing...). My best guess is it is
something to do with the Ubuntu Dock indicator that mirrors Nautilus'
own progress update. Something could be holding things up there.

[Bug 1719770] Re: hypervisor stats issue after charm removal if nova-compute service not disabled first

2017-11-03 Thread Edward Hope-Morley
Bug Confirmed - http://paste.ubuntu.com/25880271/

Deploying nova-compute to a host that previously had a nova-compute
deployed to it (i.e. hostname recycled) will result in nova hypervisor
stats reporting stats from both the deleted and active entries of that
service.

In terms of the nova-compute charm i think the topic of how it behaves
when removing units has come up before i.e. that it should somehow mark
the service/host as deleted when removing a unit of nova-compute. The
problem with doing this is that the compute service would need to be
provided with admin credentials since it no longer has direct access to
the db. This has been previously raised and the bug is still pending -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/charms/+source/nova-compute/+bug/1317560.

[Bug 1727662] Re: Crashes after unlock: [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun

2017-11-03 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Alexander Kops, I'd like to circle back on some issues I raised that
were unaddressed/unanswered in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1727662/comments/10:

1) Please make a comment to if you have the GUI setup to suspend and/or
hibernate after a set amount of time, and how long the timeout is.
2) Please provide a screenshot of the GUI and how you have it configured for
inactivity regarding the above.
3) Please stop posting snips of logs. As I mentioned before, it is not helpful
here. Instead, attach the log uncompressed/untarred in its entirety with no
modifications.
4) That's great you found fedora report who is reporting a similar error
message. Unfortunately, there is so little information in that report, its
largely useless.

[Bug 1729890] [NEW] reset full-speed usb device number

2017-11-03 Thread Sebastian Schauenburg
Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu MATE 17.10 (artful) I found this bug when I tried to get my
DPF LCD screen (connected via USB) working. I also tested my Ubuntu
17.10 MATE laptop install and I get the same result, so it is not a
hardware issue. On my Debian stretch laptop, it works just fine.

When I run 'lcd4linux -Fvvv' it fails with:
lcd4linux.c: initializing driver DPF
dpf_ax_open: found AX206 #1
dpf_ax_open: no matching USB device 'usb0' found!
dpf: cannot open dpf device usb0
Error initializing driver DPF: Exit!

meanwhile I can see the following in syslog:
Nov 3 16:40:31 prometheus kernel: [73114.705716] usb 3-12.2: reset full-speed
USB device number 88 using xhci_hcd

Nov 3 16:40:31 prometheus mtp-probe: bus: 3, device: 89 was not an MTP device

Somehow a USB reset is triggered, which disconnects and reconnects the
LCD screen, which in turn causes the device not to be found, since the
USB ID is incremented.
