[Bug 973673] Re: gurlchecker crashed with SIGSEGV in _IO_vfprintf_internal()

[Bug 1009436] Re: package-data-downloader hangs forever when attempting to download through cntlm proxy

2012-06-13 Thread Graham Inggs
I believe this is revision 306:

Rev 306, 2012-04-07 02:54:51
Author: dave
Log message:
* Properly handle non-HTTP/1.1 keep-alive (many proxies respond with 1.1 even
when client is 1.0)
and they happily add keep-alive connection, which we held open and 1.0 clients
hanged. Now, HTTP
version is detected based purely on the client's original request and explicit
keep-alive/close
headers are added to the replies based on its version. When close header is
present, Cntlm
actually closes the connection to satisfy truly 0.9/1.0 clients (even though
parent proxy
returned keep-alive) and now both 1.1 and 1.0 clients get what they expect. May
need more testing,
but seems to work OK in both the DIRECT and PROXY handlers.
* Added more detailed debug logging of HTTP header versions from clients and
servers/proxyies alike.
* Some additional write() return value checks (some dummy) to keep new GCC from
spewing the
return-value-not-used warnings, even though we sometimes really don't care
about the result.
Adding this specific warning suppression flag in the Makefile broke compilation
with older GCC
versions.

Attaching output of:
$ svn di --old=http://svn.awk.cz/cntlm/trunk@305
--new=http://svn.awk.cz/cntlm/trunk@306 r306.patch

** Patch added: Upstream fix for HTTP/1.1 persistent connections with HTTP/1.0
clients

I had a go at a PPA build. I ended up including r306 and r281 (some
pages weren't rendering correctly without r281 as well).

It is available here:

I have tested installing 'flashplugin-installer' and 'ttf-mscorefonts'
packages as well as fetching keys with 'add-apt-repository'.

[Bug 1266078] [NEW] Xprint is deprecated, so remove libxp?

2014-01-04 Thread Graham Inggs
Public bug reported:

Copy-and-pasted almost verbatim from Debian bug #657253:

The xprint package is obsolete and and has been removed. A related library is
libxp, which provides an API that enables client programs to access and use an
Xprint server. Since we've gotten rid of xprint, one could argue it makes
sense to get rid of libxp as well.

A number of packages depend on libxp. This situation sometimes arises
historically from the time before xprint was considered obsolete, with
Build-depends: libxp-dev being set in the past and then forgotten and untouched.

This bug has been filed to put the question of whether or not to keep
libxp on the record, and to help keep track of the dependent packages
(and the bugs filed against them).

In Ubuntu, libxp6 is seeded in desktop for compatibility with third
party applications that expect libxp6 to be available, see bug #21953.
In package matlab-support, libxp6 is a dependency as it was required by
MATLAB, however this has not been the case since MATLAB R2011b.

[Bug 1256536] Re: xmhtml 1.1.7 source missing src directory

2013-11-30 Thread Graham Inggs
In Makefile, which is used to build the package in Debian/Ubuntu, SUBDIRS is
defined as lib http examples tools.
My guess is that somewhere along the line 'src' was renamed to 'lib' and
Imakefile was never updated.

As this is a bug in the source tarball and doesn't affect the
Debian/Ubuntu packaging, I'm marking it Won't Fix, but feel free to
comment further.

[Bug 859600] Re: Please convert gnome-keyring to multiarch

2013-12-05 Thread Graham Inggs
@mterry: thanks for the fixes and the upload.

I can update my patch for precise, but as it stands, it also converts gcr,
which was split out of gnome-keyring into its own package in quantal, to
multiarch.
Before we can convert gnome-keyring (including gcr) to multiarch in precise, we
would first need to convert gcr to multiarch in raring and quantal, see LP:
#998715.

[Bug 1258111] Re: Ubuntu installer unable to install GRUB to software raid

2013-12-05 Thread Graham Inggs
Ubuntu installer popped up a window with the following message:

Unable to install GRUB in /dev/sda

Executing 'grub-install /dev/sda' failed.
This is a fatal error.

I attempted to run this command manually at this point, with the following
result:
$ sudo grub-install /dev/sda
Path `/boot/grub' is not readable by GRUB on boot. Installation is impossible.
Aborting.

[Bug 1258111] Re: Ubuntu installer unable to install GRUB to software raid

2013-12-06 Thread Graham Inggs
You built the raid array using the entire underlying disk drive so grub
can not be installed on them. You must partition the drive and use a
 partition as the raid component.

I did use the entire underlying disk drive, as this seemed to be the way
palimpsest wanted it to be done.
This was my third or fourth attempt at doing the installation and I am pretty
sure I had previously tried RAID-ing the partitions, so that I ended up with
/dev/md0, /dev/md1, /dev/md2, etc. but grub wouldn't install there either.

I then tried installing to a single drive, figuring I could attach the
second disk later. After installing successfully and rebooting, I
found I had a single RAID device /dev/md3 spanning the entire disk and
it was rebuilding. I allowed it to finish and I ended up with a
seemingly working RAID and a working grub.

2013-12-06 Thread Graham Inggs
OK, this should completely remove all Motif packages from 2.3.4-4 and
the 2.3.4-1 you got elsewhere (all in one line):

sudo apt-get purge motif-clients libmotif-dev libmotif4-dbg libmotif4
libmotif-common libmotif3 libmotif3-dbg libmrm4 libuil4 libxm4 mwm uil

Now you can install the libraries:

sudo apt-get install libmotif4

If you have a 64-bit system (amd64 architecture) and you want the 32-bit
libraries as well:

sudo apt-get install libmotif4:i386

[Bug 1255473] Re: Keyboard navigation of menus not working correctly

2013-12-07 Thread Graham Inggs
** Description changed:

- Motif 2.3.4 includes a fix for upstream bug #1565 (The active window
- changes to inactive when the drop down list is clicked) [1]. A side-
- effect of this fix is that keyboard navigation of menus does not work
- correctly.
+ [Impact]
+ Keyboard navigation of menus in applications built against Motif 2.3.4 is
broken.
+ This is a regression for applications that were previously built against
Lesstif but have been built against Motif in Saucy, see the transition bug LP:
#1222747. The fix is an updated patch for upstream bug #1565 [1], provided by
upstream.

- Steps to reproduce:
+ [Test Case]
Install and run xball (or any other Motif application with a menu bar).
Click on 'File' in the menu bar (or press Alt-F).
- Now press Left Arrow or Right Arrow and the highlight should move left and
right through the horizontal menu options (File, Actions, Options and Help).
- Now press Up Arrow, Down Arrow or Enter and nothing happens.
+ Now press Left Arrow or Right Arrow and the highlight should move left and
right through the horizontal menu options (File, Actions, Options and Help).
+ Now press Up Arrow, Down Arrow or Enter and nothing happens, the expect
behaviour is that the highlight should move through the vertical menu options
and the option be actioned.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ This patch affects the operation of ComboBox, PopupMenu, OptionMenu and
DropDownList widgets in applications built against Motif.
+ The behaviour of the original bug #1565 and previous versions of the patch to
fix it were different on different display managers / window managers. I have
successfully tested the current patch in Unity, MWM, XFCE, FluxBox, LXDE,
GNOME, KDE and Openbox.
+
+ In this SRU, I would like to include fixes for two additional bugs:
+ - the undefined use of sprintf in lib/Xm/XmRenderT.c where the source and
destination buffers overlap (upstream bug #1628 [2])
+ - an array bounds error in lib/Xm/DataF.c where _XmDataFieldIsWSpace() is
called with num_entries = 3 (upstream bug #1629 [3])
+ I believe the fixes for these are trivial and the regression potential for
them is low.

  * Rebuild with libmotif-dev instead of lesstif2-dev. (LP: #1222747)
Debian has now also transitioned to libmotif-dev.

Changelog entries since current trusty version 8.0.0-1ubuntu1:

glw (8.0.0-1.1) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Paul Gevers ]
  * Non-maintainer upload
  * Build-Depends on libmotif-dev (Closes: #714737)
  * Swapped Depends on lesstif2-dev | libmotif-dev for now.

  [ Andreas Boll ]
  * Disable silent rules.

[Bug 1255473] [NEW] Keyboard navigation of menus not working correctly

2013-11-27 Thread Graham Inggs
Public bug reported:

Motif 2.3.4 includes a fix for upstream bug #1565 (The active window
changes to inactive when the drop down list is clicked) [1]. A side-
effect of this fix is that keyboard navigation of menus does not work
correctly.

Steps to reproduce:
Install and run xball (or any other Motif application with a menu bar).
Click on 'File' in the menu bar (or press Alt-F).
Now press Left Arrow or Right Arrow and the highlight should move left and
right through the horizontal menu options (File, Actions, Options and Help).
Now press Up Arrow, Down Arrow or Enter and nothing happens.

[Bug 1129409] [NEW] nvidia-graphics-drivers should indicate which CUDA version they include

2013-02-18 Thread Graham Inggs
Public bug reported:

The nvidia-cuda-toolkit package needs to depend on a minimum version of the
CUDA library included in nvidia-graphics-drivers.
The current Debian version of nvidia-cuda-toolkit (5.0.35-4) does this on
Debian systems by checking the version of libcuda1 and on Ubuntu systems by
checking the version of nvidia-current, nvidia-curent-updates,
nvidia-experimental-304 or nvidia-experimental-310.

It would greatly simplify maintenance of nvidia-cuda-toolkit if nvidia-
graphics-drivers provided a versioned 'libcuda1' transitional package as
well an 'nvidia-libopencl1' virtual package.

** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

[Bug 1221536] [NEW] FFe: Sync xbae 4.60.4-5 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2013-09-06 Thread Graham Inggs
Public bug reported:

Please sync xbae 4.60.4-5 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of FeatureFreeze exception:
Part of the lesstif2motif transition [1] in Debian.
The following packages also need to be synced and built in the following order:

xbae 4.60.4-5
grace 1:5.1.23-2
cernlib 20061220+dfsg3-4
paw 1:2.14.04.dfsg.2-9
geant321 1:3.21.14.dfsg-11
mclibs 20061220+dfsg3-3

[1] https://wiki.debian.org/lesstif2motifTransition

Changelog entries since current saucy version 4.60.4-3:

xbae (4.60.4-5) unstable; urgency=low

  * Upload to unstable, no other changes.

 -- Nicholas Breen nbr...@debian.org Sat, 24 Aug 2013 10:01:22 -0700

xbae (4.60.4-4) experimental; urgency=low

  * Upload to experimental.
  * Switch Build-Depends from lesstif to openmotif. This change is ABI-
incompatible; the runtime package has been changed to libxbae4m and
is not co-installable with the older, lesstif-based libxbae4 to
reflect this incompatibility and prevent mixed dependencies.
(Closes: #366193)
  * Update LDFLAGS invocation for proper passing of hardening flags.

[Bug 1222747] [NEW] [FFe] Transition tcm, gridengine and mgdiff to Motif

2013-09-09 Thread Graham Inggs
Public bug reported:

I'm requesting a feature freeze exception to transition tcm, gridengine
and mgdiff from lesstif2-dev to libmotif-dev.

This is part of the lesstif2motif transition in Debian [1].

These three packages require minor modifications before they will build with
libmotif-dev.
Once these packages have transitioned, the then remaining 16 packages depending
on lesstif2-dev only require a single build-dep change, which can be avoided it
libmotif-dev provided lesstif2-dev.
