Both these things should be fixed now with the new upload to Debian (which has already sync'd in here; in the proposed pocket): python-aws-requests-auth (0.4.3-2) unstable; urgency=medium . * Team upload. * Run upstream tests during build time. - and thus add BD on python3-{mock,botocore}. . -- Utkarsh Gupta Sat, 15 May 2021 20:16:59 +0530 Let me know if there's anything missing here to fix. Hello, Thanks for filing a bug. > Well, it's not the first time that mysql fails during upgrades... I am really sorry to see that. Though from the logs, I see: [ERROR] [MY-67] [Server] unknown variable 'query_cache_limit=1M'. Query cache support was removed in 8.0 (ref https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/mysql-nutshell.html and https://mysqlserverteam.com/mysql-8-0-retiring-support-for-the-query- cache/). Since these two options were in the 5.7 default config we do try to automatically handle it on upgrades, but the default config file location is /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnf, so it only checks that location (/etc/mysql/my.cnf is also used by MariaDB, so by default it just includes the directory for the currently installed variant). The fix for this should simply be to comment out the two lines with query_cache, but if you receive any similar errors after doing that you can check the mysql-nutshell page linked above to see if there's been any change for it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1928435 Title: unknown variable 'query_cache_limit=1M' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-8.0/+bug/1928435/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1152187] Re: [MIR] systemd
Hello, Revisiting this MIR since we (now) want to have systemd-container (from src:systemd) from Bionic/universe in Bionic/main. This package is to be included in the Google cloud images the public cloud team builds, going back to Bionic. Hi Nikola, Thanks for filing the bug and help make Ubuntu server better. I tried to reproduce the bug as you mentioned but wasn't able to. In a Groovy (20.10) VM, I install postfix, configured it as you mentioned, did upgrade, and finally upgrade to Hirsute (21.04) but both the upgrade went fix. I used hostname=xdesk and whilst I can confirm that it did add two dots but as I mentioned, the upgrade went OK. $ grep myhostname /etc/postfix/main.cf [...] myhostname = xdesk.. [...] Although your log shows that this is what caused the problem, I'd like to ask if you can help me layout a reproducer (that is, steps to reproduce this bug) so that we can help fix this? Also, since we are in sync with the version of postfix in Debian (that is, 3.5.6-1)[1], can you please forward this bug report to Debian? Scott is an active maintainer and once this is fixed there, the fix will land here in Impish (21.10) and we can further backport (SRU) this fix to older releases, depending upon the patch and its details, et al. [Bug 1930207] [NEW] [MIR] prips package
Public bug reported: [Availability] == prips was introduced in Precise as a sync from Debian and carries no delta. It only depends on the libc6 package, which is in main already. The package builds on all the architectures; is Arch:any. [Rationale] === This package is to be included in Google cloud images the public cloud team builds going back to Bionic. As cloud images are to ship only packages from main this request is to see that happen. [Security] == There doesn't seem to be the need for looping in the Security team. The package doesn't install services / daemons (/etc/init.d/*, /etc/init/*, /lib/systemd/system/*). Just ships the "prips" binary, its docs, and a man page. Furthermore, there haven't been any CVEs for this package in the past. Since this package just simply prints the IP addresses in a given range, it wouldn't require the Security team. Either way, there are only 3 files with C code which is simple enough to read and only ~500 LOC. [Quality assurance] === There are currently 0 open bug reports (excluding this one) about the package in Ubuntu and has 1 open bug in Debian, but that's a wishlist one and is more of a request for upstream than a bug in the package in Debian. Hello, Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I tried to reproduce the issue from a clean LXD container but wasn't able to: rabbitmq-server installed just fine. If you want to try this yourself you could do something on these lines: $ lxc launch ubuntu:focal rabbitmq-server-focal $ lxc exec rabbitmq-server-focal bash # apt update # apt install rabbitmq-server Without steps to reproduce there's little we can do here to tell if this is a bug or a local configuration issue. For this reason I'm marking this bug as Incomplete for now. If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: https://ubuntu.com/support /community-support Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. I can even "import uaclient" and it all seems OK. I wonder if it's due to a local issue or something. Also, interestingly, you say you did a release upgrade to 20.04? But the package version shows Bionic. I am not sure how's that? Did you set anything up manually, et al? Can you reproduce this in a container or a VM as well? [Bug 1929880] Re: php-twig 3.x in circular build dependency situation with symfony 5
If only it were simple to build symfony once we landed php-twig, which I did, some moments ago. :) Anyhow, symfony has a little bit of mess because of .so involved, which can be cleaned up easily but some tests behave oddly: ``` Error in bootstrap script: Error: Failed opening required 'Cache/TagInterop/autoload.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php') KO src/Symfony/Bundle/DebugBundle PHP Warning: require_once(Cache/TagInterop/autoload.php): Failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/share/php/Cache/IntegrationTests/autoload.php on line 4 ``` This probably happens in Debian as well; me and William (~williamdes)are investigating that on Debian and will try to have that fixed. Anyhow, disabling tests for symfony as well for now. I've got closer to building this. Mostly everything can be reverted once we have settled down the cicular-dependency hell hole. :D Thus, adding symfony to this bug as well. Okay, we've cleared the way through so far, yay! \o/ Now, the interesting bit is that there are circular dependencies for testing as well. php-doctrine-bundle's tests rely on the working symfony & symfony's tests rely on working php-doctrine-bundle :) But at the moment, php-doctrine-bundle needs a rebuild. Because otherwise, it tries to pull in parts of symfony/cache v4. So I'd like to disable the tests & do a rebuild & upload. [Bug 1931257] [NEW] Please remove ruby-gitlab-pg-query from Impish (-proposed)
Public bug reported: Hello, This package, since it hasn't been published, has obviously no reverse-{build-}dependencies. It was actually packaged in Debian because src:gitlab needed it and we've been carrying it as a regular sync since then. However, it has been FTFBS'ing since the start (from Hirsute onward) and never migrated to -release because it accesses internet during the build. An RC bug has been reported in Debian: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=981878. Further as Praveen mentioned, src:gitlab no longer needs it as it has now started to directly depend upon it's actual soruce, src:ruby-pg- query. This bug has been fixed[1] in src:ruby-pg-query already and is available in experimental[2]. Once the Debian archive opens again, it'll be uploaded to unstable & will get it sync'd here as well. Since ruby-gitlab-pg-query is no longer needed & will soon be removed from Debian, too, I'd hereby like to request its removal from Impish (-proposed) as well. [Bug 1747044] Re: kpartx 0.7.4-2ubuntu1 in bionic does not remove loop devices
Hello, Upstream sanctioned an alternate patch (cf: https://github.com/opensvc /multipath-tools/commit/95c4189b683c543ac291628df8143a93373de17b) which tries to solve the same problem, as discussed on the upstream mailing list (cf: thread here: https://listman.redhat.com/archives/dm- devel/2018-February/msg00019.html). I am inclined towards giving this a try? How do you feel about this? Is this something we can adapt to with 0.8.6 (which is released upstream but yet to be uploaded to the archive)? Do note that this patch is already included in the version which is in the archive. [Bug 1933391] Re: FTBFS with PHP 8.0 on Impish
I have few more additions to this bug. Whilst I am still struggling with the after-effects of the first shot, I'd like to mention them here so as to hopefully unblock others or at least give ideas that might help. If you check the condition of the package, it's sort of broken. At least the autopkgtest. Check the Debian tracker: all red (:/) and there's an RC bug for that, too. This means that even if you get around to "building" this, there will still be autopkgtest failure. I haven't yet inspected what the problem is but I know that it's going to bite us here as well. So just fixing the build isn't the only thing we're trying to achieve here. Furthermore, if you see, the package has been removed from testing because it's not suitable for a stable release. Going along those lines, I think I would personally prefer to ask the AA to remove this package from the "release" pocket and just let it be there in the "proposed" pocket until things are fixed in Debian or at least we have somebody here who cares for this. And I am pretty sure that it's reasonable enough to ask this. Once this happens, the package would no longer be a problem for openldap or anything else. In case it sees a fix then, awesome, else, oh well! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Personally, I don't think it's worthy of fixing this unless we *really* care about it, which looks unlikely. [Bug 1934381] Re: package postfix 3.5.6-1 failed to install/upgrade: installed postfix package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 75
Hello, Thanks for filing the bug and helping in making Ubuntu Server better! >From your logs, I see: > newaliases: fatal: file /etc/postfix/main.cf: parameter > myhostname: bad parameter value: saturn.. You need to set a valid hostname. This isn't really a package bug (this behavior is by design), but a local configuration issue, I believe. However, I tried to reproduce the bug as you mentioned but wasn't able to. In a Hirsute (21.04) VM, I installed postfix, configured it as you mentioned, did upgrade, and finally upgrade to Impish (the devel release) but both the upgrade went fix. Scott is an active maintainer and once this is fixed there, the fix will land here in Impish (the next release) and we can further backport (SRU) this fix to older releases, depending upon the patch and its details, et al.
