[Bug 942856] Re: NetworkManager does not support AES-encrypted private keys for WPA 802.1x authentication

2018-12-21 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Walter, or anyone else affected,

Accepted network-manager into bionic-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-
manager/1.10.14-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

Hug Day - 17 June 2008

2008-06-13 Thread Brian Murray
The OpenOffice.org maintainer has been doing a heroic job of handling
bug reports regarding OpenOffice but he can still use your help!
Subsequently, the next hug day, on Tuesday, June 17th, will focus on
OpenOffice. There are currently about 214 New bug reports regarding
Open Office and we will be focusing on reducing that number in addition
to look at some outstanding Incomplete and Confirmed bugs. We'll do
this by following up with reporters, documenting test cases, confirming
bug reports and tagging bugs based on their sub-component. The event
will be held in #ubuntu-bugs on Freenode. The list of targeted bugs and
tasks is posted at:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBugDay/20080617

Our goal is to deal with all of the bugs on that list.

So on 17 June 2008, in all timezones, we'll be meeting in
#ubuntu-bugs on irc.freenode.net for another Ubuntu Hug Day.

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBugDay

While you are welcome to apply to join the Ubuntu Bug Control team
anytime, Hug Day is a great day to join!

If you're interested in helping to make the next release of Ubuntu even
better - please stop by. And feel free to ask bdmurray, pedro, calc
(the OpenOffice maintainer) and the rest of the team for ways to help
out. We hope to see you there and your name on the list of bug
triagers!

Sincerely,

Bug Day - 08 April 2008

2008-04-04 Thread Brian Murray
It's been about two months since we've looked at bugs with out a
package and the number is continuing to grow. So let's take a look at
these on Tuesday, April 8th! We can easily help these bug reports by
assigning them to the right package but it'd be best to get them
triaged. The event will be held in #ubuntu-bugs on Freenode.
The bug list I've created is focused on reports that should be about
Hardy and is at:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBugDay/20080408

It's no joke our next bug day is Tuesday, April 1st! In Launchpad it is

Hug Day - 5 February 2008

2008-02-01 Thread Brian Murray
It has been two months since we looked at the bugs without a package
which by the way we did a great job of assigning to packages and
triaging. However, the numbers are creeping back up so it's time to
go get them!

So join us on our next Hug Day on Wednesday, February 5th! We will be

easily help these bug reports through the triaging process by assigning
to them a package. For help in determining what package to assign the
bug to please take a look at:

Even better than just assigning a package would be gathering more
information from the original reporter if it is necessary. A list of

So on 8 August 2007, in all timezones, we'll be meeting in #ubuntu-bugs
on irc.freenode.net for another Ubuntu Hug Day.

Ubuntu Hug Day: 05 July 2007

2007-06-30 Thread Brian Murray
I'm happy to announce our next Hug Day on Thursday, July 5th. The date
is different due to the distro team sprint the week of July 11th and a
US holiday on July 4th. Ben Collins from the server team has agreed to
devote his day to helping out and providing guidance regarding kernel
bugs. The event will be held in #ubuntu-devel again. There will also
be a wiki page with bugs in specific categories to work on. There is
even a place for you to add your name after meeting the goal for a bug!

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBugDay/20070705

This list will be finalized shortly before the start of the 5th to
ensure that all the bugs on it still need attention. Our goal is to
deal with all of the bugs on that list.

So on 05 July 2007, in all timezones, we'll be meeting in #ubuntu-devel

Re: Using xdg-user-dirs for the gutsy desktop

2007-06-18 Thread Brian Murray

 Hi,

 The gutsy desktop can use xdg-user-dirs and will start depending on it
 soon, the tool description is:

 xdg-user-dirs is a tool to help manage well known user directories
  like the desktop folder and the music folder. It also handles
  localization (i.e. translation) of the filenames.
  .
  The way it works is that xdg-user-dirs-update is run very early in the
  login phase. This program reads a configuration file, and a set of
  default directories. It then creates localized versions of these
  directories in the users home directory and sets up a config file in
  $(XDG_CONFIG_HOME)/user-dirs.dirs (XDG_CONFIG_HOME defaults to
  ~/.config) that applications can read to find these directories.

 The default set of directory is:

 DESKTOP=Desktop
 DOWNLOAD=Download
 TEMPLATES=Templates
 PUBLICSHARE=Public
 DOCUMENTS=Documents
 MUSIC=Music
 PICTURES=Pictures
 VIDEOS=Videos

 The desktop applications make use of it to know what directory to use.

 Does anyone has concern about the list of directory or does it look ok
 to everybody?

Most of the directory names are pluralized but the DOWNLOAD directory
is not. I would prefer that it was the same as the rest and became
Downloads.

Thanks,

UbuntuHugDay: 23 March 2007

2007-03-20 Thread Brian Murray
We will be holding the first of what will be weekly Hug Days on Friday,
March 23rd. This also follows the Beta release of Feisty Fawn scheduled
for the 22nd.

So on 23 March 2007, in all timezones, we'll be meeting in #ubuntu-bugs
on irc.freenode.net for another Ubuntu Bug Day.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBugDay

We'll be looking at bugs dealing with Feisty in particular:
http://tinyurl.com/2lwn28

We'll also be helping bugs without a home find the packages they belong
to:
http://tinyurl.com/23wap8

We'd also like to focus on forwarding bugs upstream as we may be able to
get fixes in Feisty:
http://tinyurl.com/3cfsax

As always we'll be accepting people into Ubuntu QA:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuQA

And we'll be doing our usual bug triage:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HelpingWithBugs

If you're interested in helping, please stop by. And feel free to ask
bdmurray, dholbach and the rest of the team for ways to help out.

Hope to see you there!

UbuntuHugDay: 7 March 2007

2007-03-07 Thread Brian Murray
With the release of Feisty Fawn Herd 5 some of us thought it appropriate
to have another Hugs Day tomorrow. I apologize for the short notice but
thought it important to have as many as possible before Feisty's final
release.

So on 7 March 2007, in all timezones, we'll be meeting in
#ubuntu-bugs on irc.freenode.net for another Ubuntu Bug Day.
