We also have time to convince Debian maintainers for relevant packages to accept the gpg2-by-default switch. -- Dmitry Shachnev signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature -- ubuntu-devel mailing list ubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel
Re: ISO generator for LoCo teams - UEFI booting language setting

Neither the simple method I use (echo fi | sudo tee extract-cd/isolinux/lang) nor the gfxboot hack mentioned at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization has an effect - UEFI boots always in English. Optimally the language would be set for the boot menu already, since on UEFI the boot menu is always shown unlike on Legacy boot where there's just the icon if no input is given. But if that's not possible, maybe setting it before the desktop or installer starts? -Timo -- ubuntu-devel mailing list ubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel

So, i'll prepare a PPA for wily with 2.1 as default, and we will aim at 2.1 only for next cycle. This should give us plenty of time to prepare, and have e.g. gpg 2.1 as default at the Xanthous Xuangui opening. -- Regards, Dimitri. -- ubuntu-devel mailing list ubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel

Any comments / remarks / suggestions? I am now successfully running gpg2 by default on one of my laptops (first 2.0, then 2.1) for a couple of weeks. I fully support the switch because I got used to GNOME graphical password prompts, and they now no longer work with gpg 1.x. I had to fix some packages' configuration (mainly devscripts/debsign and git) because they use /usr/bin/gpg by default. python-gnupg does not currently support 2.1 (but supports 2.0), that is fixed in upstream hg and hopefully there will be a new release soon. -- Dmitry Shachnev signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature -- ubuntu-devel mailing list ubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel
OpenSSH status
This might be of interest to some people here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=785190#17 I've just uploaded openssh 1:6.9p1-1 (which includes security patches backported from 7.0p1) to Debian unstable, and will sync it into wily later today, just barely in time for feature freeze, so we'll at least only be on a slightly old version rather than a very old version. As I indicated in that Debian bug report, one reason I'm lagging behind on 7.0p1 is that we need to get bazaar.launchpad.net and git.launchpad.net upgraded to support new key exchange methods first, which is non-trivial because they run custom server code based on Twisted Conch which does not yet support newer KEX types. I think Ubuntu developers would be especially annoyed if OpenSSH in Ubuntu couldn't connect to our code hosting in its default configuration! But I plan to work on the Twisted side of things ASAP. I suspect at this point 7.0p1 ought to wait for Ubuntu 16.04 rather than 15.10 in any case, which gives us adequate time to sort this out. -- Colin Watson [cjwat...@ubuntu.com] -- ubuntu-devel mailing list ubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel
