So, is this planned for the 22.04 release?

Back in 18.04, there was a similar abi-breaking change between 1.0 and
1.1, and the resulting conflict between the libssl-dev and
libssl1.0-dev packages was quite painful to many people and never
actually resolved:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssl1.0/+bug/1794589

I would hate to see that happen again in 22.04.

Call for testing: 20.04.3 release candidate images ready!

2021-08-19 Thread Lukasz Zemczak
Hello everyone!

Some moments ago we published our first official release candidate
images for the 20.04.3 point-release. We seem to have all critical
blockers resolved, so my hope is that these images will be the final
ones we'll be releasing next week.

http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/425/builds

Please pick your favorite flavor and start testing! And be sure to
report your results on the isotracker.

As with every recent release, we have a discourse thread for tracking
progress which we try to keep up to date as much as possible:

https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/focal-fossa-20-04-3-lts-point-release-status-tracking/22948

Best regards,

I should be able to make this (I'll add a calendar event now).
