Also, please use -v with the old package version when uploading a merge. You also refreshed the quilt patches for no discernable reason, which would make the next merge have a pointless delta to apply. Good thing that, in this case, there doesn't need to be a merge at all. ;) ... Generally, anything that increases the size of the delta without providing an obvious benefit is bad in the sense that it's one more way the next merge becomes more work due to potential merge conflicts, etc. My general rule for Debian-Ubuntu deltas is to try to keep them as small and self-contained as possible while fixing the bugs or adding the features that we need. ...
