The Cloud Archive pockets are really designed to be used as part of an OpenStack deployment, and are tested for this purpose only. Picking individual components in the way described may work, but we don't make any guarantees that it will, i.e. its untested. If you are having issues with the version of libvirt or qemu in 14.04, I'd recommend you ensure bugs are raises, so the relevant maintainers get triage and fix if required.
