autoinstall

2021-01-11 Thread Jerry Geis
This is my autoinstall - it errors with FAIL and backtrace. Nothing on the
screen is of any meaning to me to tell me why. IS there a reason anyone can
see ? Thanks,

Nothing shows for devices.  This should be an Intel driver for X.
Why is it not showing ?

It does the right thing since you're already using the driver which came
preinstalled with the system

How do I ensure the Intel X11 driver is loaded ?
I dont see /var/log/X anything

it's ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log these days, and you're already using
the supported driver which is called 'modesetting'... 'intel' is
deprecated and only used on old hw which don't work with modesetting.

My sincere apologies! I thought I was on a Debian system, and was kinda
perplexed that the info from "apt info curl" referred to y'all in the
Ubuntu world. Please ignore this request.

For Ubuntu, this may be relevant:

Thanks, that's interesting information.

Тема: intel microcode package(>3.20191115) is not working with intel core i9
Дата: 11 января 2021, 02:31:35

Hello

We have an issue with packages for ubuntu
http://ftp.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/i/intel-microcode/?C=M;O=A on intel core
i9.  Currently is working package intel-microcode 3.20191115.1ubuntu3

Please see more details here -
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=264305&start=20 and
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=339625&p=1951691#p1951691

Please help due to many customers since 20.1 LTS will have black screen and it
means at least we can loose some part of customers which is not "good in linux"
(and not able to set grub option) and they are not able to manipulate with
different intel-microcode packages.

Thanks in Advance

Autoinstall not working 20.04 LTS

2021-01-11 Thread Jerry Geis
I have this for my "launch" line which I see on screen and select. I am
using live-server

label LSI-M
  menu label ^Install Ubuntu 20.04 LSI AutoInstall
  kernel /casper/vmlinuz
  append  initrd=/casper/initrd debian-installer/local=en_US autoinstall
ds=nocloud;s=/cdrom/autoinstall_mediacontroller_ubuntu20.yaml quiet splash
biosdevname=0 net.ifnames=0 ---

Looking at /proc/cmdline verifies the ABOVE boot line is what was used.
I have verified my files are present in the path and name.

What do I not have right to use AutoInstall

Thanks
Jerry
