Let me forward you a question I got on the bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtbase-opensource-src/+bug/1848784/comments/1 This would appear to have security implications since I imagine if an email were sent to a KMail recipient which was crafted in this same way it would crash KMail? If this is likely true a CVE should be requested from MITRE via https://cveform.mitre.org/ so that other distros etc can ensure they ship this patch too. I have just created a bug for this, and I will try to include this fix in my next upload for Ubuntu Bionic (18.04). https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtbase-opensource-src/+bug/1848784 Feel free to subscribe if you are interested in tracking the fix. -- Dmitry Shachnev signature.asc Description: PGP signature -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss

Shortcut is set, but > not usable. Have you set it like in my screenshot? There should be no differences between Unity and GNOME Flashback sessions in Ubuntu 16.04: both are using unity-settings-daemon, unity-control-center and indicator-keyboard. If there are differences for you, you must be doing something wrong. In particular, please make sure that gnome-settings-daemon is not running and “gsettings get org.gnome.gnome-flashback input-sources” is false. > > From testing the same Ubuntu 16.04.2 live image: if I type “apt-get install > > gnome-session-flashback”, nothing pulls in gnome-control-center. > > I tried from mini.iso. You should be able so safely remove it. -- Dmitry Shachnev signature.asc Description: PGP signature -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss

You do not need both. On Ubuntu 16.10 and older, the GNOME Flashback session is using unity-control-center. On Ubuntu 17.04 and newer, it is using gnome-control-center. From testing the same Ubuntu 16.04.2 live image: if I type “apt-get install gnome-session-flashback”, nothing pulls in gnome-control-center. > 4. What is the future of unity-control-center? I think it will receive only critical fixes, like Unity itself.
