Re: New tzdata release for ubuntu 20.04 lts (and higher)
tzdata should be updated in legacy releases via Ubuntu Pro, which you should be able to gain access to via ubuntu.com/pro On Mon, 19 Feb 2024, 17:19 Dauren Sarsenov, wrote: > Hi, guys. > > Good news, I can see that an updated version of tzdata has been released > for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. > > Can you suggest, how can i backport it to Ubuntu 18.04, 16.04 (as they are > retired, i guess they will never see the update otherwise)? > > > > Best > > Dauren > > > On 8 Feb 2024, at 16:45, Adrien Nader wrote: > > > > Hi, > > > > On Sat, Feb 03, 2024, Dauren Sarsenov wrote: > >> Hi, guys. > >> > >> I wonder, how much time does it usually take to release an update > version of tzdata package? Hi, guys. Good news, I can see that an updated version of tzdata has been released for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Can you suggest, how can i backport it to Ubuntu 18.04, 16.04 (as they are retired, i guess they will never see the update otherwise)? On the Ubuntu side, we are aware of the update but the person usually doing the updates has not been able to do it. This is something that we are planning to address in the next two weeks (regardless of their availability) although I cannot fully guarantee it at the moment. New tzdata release for ubuntu 20.04 lts (and higher)
Hi, guys. I wonder, how much time does it usually take to release an update version of tzdata package? Asking, because there is a new upstream build (https://www.iana.org/time-zones), and rather critical one to us, who live in Kazakhstan. The clock is to be moved 1 hour back on the 1st of March 2024. The new build of tzdata contains the appropriate rule, thus it is highly anticipated currently.
