Re: updates to libmtp9 in trusty
I asked a follow-up question in the libmtp bug report of the developer and was told that I could edit the /lib/udev/rules.d/69-mtp.rules file to add an entry for my phone to work around this with the current libmtp 1.1.6 in trusty. I did so and my phone is now mounted, but I still get some messages: Device 0 (VID=1004 and PID=622a) is UNKNOWN. Please report this VID/PID and the device model to the libmtp development team Unable to open ~/.mtpz-data for reading, MTPZ disabled.Android device detected, assigning default bug flags Error 1: Get Storage information failed. Received event PTP_EC_StoreAdded in session 1 A file folder for it opens on the desktop and I can browse the files, but the mountpoint is: /var/run/user/1000/gvfs/mtp:host=%5Busb%3A002%2C013%5D Is there something I missed somewhere that can make this a bit cleaner? I would have expected to see the manufacturer and model in some form, not what I see here. Is there a way I can add support for my phone to the current release of the library? Is there a PPA with updates for this library? Thank you for any assistance you can offer. It may be possible to set your phone to use an alternative mode on USB (PTP maybe) so that it is accessible without using mtp. Unfortunately it seems to work intermittently, and when it does work it restricts me to the area of the phone supporting the camera. Any suggestions to improve PTP support will be appreciated.
