 Hello Everyone,

As you may know, 14.04 Cycle is an LTS (Long Term Support) Cycle.
Having that said, Ubuntu and most of the official flavours will have LTS
Release. For the moment, the lack of Manpower could keep us away from
having an LTS Release. However, after a discussion with our Developers,
we'd like to announce the urgent need for these roles:

1- Someone with Bug Control to 'Actively Commit' to triaging Ubuntu
 GNOME bugs.

2- Couple of people helping out with 'Bug Fixing'.

3- People to help with 'Packaging' on the PPA's

PLEASE NOTE: We are looking for people with experience and skills! We
NEED people to commit for 3-5 years support and not just join for few
 months then leave.

NO PROMISES to be made but we would be comfortable enough to submit an
application to the Technical Board in order to have an LTS Release when we
will have volunteers who can actively contribute and help us.

If you have the required experience and skills or if you know someone
who has, please let us know :)

 Thank you!

As long as I am alive and as long as there is Ubuntu and as long as Tim and
other great people around, Ubuntu GNOME will NEVER go away, that is a fact
:)

I think the writer didn't mean exactly that Ubuntu GNOME fade away over
night but let's take his words as good intention rather bad/negative.

I am one of those who DO WANT an LTS release :D
Ubuntu GNOME is great, I can NOT wait 2 more years to see an LTS of this
great system. I am putting so much blood, sweat and tears into this. Not
only me, there are many great people around doing the same. We just need
'more' people. I will do whatever it takes to have an LTS version for
Ubuntu GNOME and I do mean whatever it takes :)

Thank you!

P.S.
Yes indeed. You are one of the great testers of our system and BIG thanks
for that. I wish you will carry on and support this for this release and
the coming ones :)

Let's wait to hear from Tim!

Even if we can't do an LTS at this stage in our development there is no
reason to think that Ubuntu GNOME will just go away. I've devoted a
great deal of time to testing the upgrade processes detailed at the

Hi:

Good painting job (to Ali)! and Merry Christmas !

I find a bug (which might come from Ubuntu kernel) that after the
installation of opencv (www.opencv.org) library,
if computer is reboot or shutdown, we cannot get in again. I thought it
might be the opencv bug with GNOME,
however, linuxmint with cinnamon has the same problem (as far as I tested).

Merry Xmas.

Merry Christmas

2013-12-25 Thread Ali Linx (amjjawad)
On Behalf of Ubuntu GNOME Community and for everyone who is celebrating
today, Ubuntu GNOME wishes you very happy holidays and Merry Christmas to
you :)

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGNOME/OneStopPage

I am definitely not a graphics designer but our skillful artwork team
leader is on vacation and has no Internet connection wherever he is and he
apologized for not creating something for this day so I thought to do
something to put a smile one someone's face. Sorry if it looks awful. Just
my way to great my friends and team mates :)

Thank you for choosing and using Ubuntu GNOME and we are looking for more
great achievement for 2014!

Enjoy and have a great one :)
