Re: want to test ubuntuGnome 14.4 - a question for iso files
Thank you, got it installed, downloading the iso image now. My OS which runs the virtualization is a windows7. are there any programs in windows that could work similar to TestDrive? I'm restrictive on bandwidth, and i'm looking to avoid redownloading iso files as they get uploaded. You will want to use Zsync. Looks like there are client builds of zsync for windows here: https://www.assembla.com/spaces/zsync-windows/documents And the Ubuntu docs for zync here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ZsyncCdImage (zsync URL's for Ubuntu GNOME images are in here: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-gnome/daily-live/current/) Thanks for any help. P.S i know this list is for ubuntu gnome and for linux in general, but i'm asking since i couldn't find anything in google. So it really comes down to the users to point out problems, from there we can get the relevant people to look at it. Re: want to test ubuntuGnome 14.4 - a question for iso files
I will study the testing wiki pages and will join the launchpad team. I have never filed bugs so this can be the first time for me to participate. Regarding accessibility, I believe there are one or two folks who work on gnome-orca itself full time, and there are active developers in Debian and Manjaro distros for accessibility improvements. lots of accessibility improvements came up in gnome 3.4.2 and the following releases, so I believe there has to be some good devs who are helping to improve accessibility in gnome. Ubuntu Gnome is amazing. maybe in the far future it could be possible to have speakup by default. Hi Hadi :) On my signature, you will find all the important links that one needs to bookmark :) OneStopPage is enough actually. You don't need to bookmark all the links ;) I have never filed bugs so this can be the first time for me to participate. And you would be the best candidate to help us with bugs. Usually, people new to all of this are the best candidate. Those who know more about the system are less likely to break it because by default, they would know how to avoid the problems or how to fix them so they are best for 'Bug Triage' - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Bug%20triage Regarding accessibility, I believe there are one or two folks who work on gnome-orca itself full time, and there are active developers in Debian and Manjaro distros for accessibility improvements. lots of accessibility improvements came up in gnome 3.4.2 and the following releases, so I believe there has to be some good devs who are helping to improve accessibility in gnome. Sadly, I know nothing about this. Ubuntu Gnome is amazing. Indeed it is :) maybe in the far future it could be possible to have speakup by default. Who knows? maybe :) Thank you! Hi, That was an old email ;) We're testing now Beta 1 - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGNOME/Testing And soon, we will back to test the daily images. Kindly keep in mind that in order to help Ubuntu GNOME with the testing process, you're required, as always, to test only the 'latest' build. Testing an old build is pointless and useless. Those who are involved with testings need always to keep an eye on the QA mailing list of Ubuntu GNOME and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGNOME/Testing If there is any Q or anything wrong with that Wiki Page, please do shout at me. Send me directly or send to the list. Thank you! P.S. In order for any test to be really helpful, tester is required to always do a clean and fresh install :) Using any kind of upgrade is less helpful. Why? Because the installation process is the very first thing that everyone needs to test. A system that can't be installed is 100% useless and thus, we must test the testing process :) I will keep repeating this until I make sure everyone is aware of this :) -- Best Regards, amjjawad https://wiki.ubuntu.com/amjjawad *Remember: *All of us are smarter than any one of us.
