rhythmbox-de...@gnome.org (the project's mailing list) might be a good
place to look for answers if you think that it's the application
itself. The fact that the bug occurs on Unity as well seems to support
this theory.

Sorry for the delay! I am using a Dell ultrabook with these specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3537U CPU @ 2.00GHz
8 GB RAM DDR3 1600 MHz

I have Hybrid Graphics but at most time I am using the integrated card, a
common Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller using
the i915 driver. I have fglrx installed but the discrete card always
disabled for some reasons like battery powersaving and the machine
temperature.

I did some tests and I think the issue is related to that Rhythmbox package
as i've used it on another Ubuntu/Unity installation and sometimes it let
my animations to be not smooth as it does on a GNOME shell environment.

Unfortunatelly i am not sure about how i can get more details of the issue.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the answer! I've already did some researchs about it on Google
and IRC too and did not found something related and due this i wanted to
create this thread to see if someone here is experiencing the same issue,
it was my last shot. :P

I personally never use Rhythmbox but I was wondering what do you mean by:

What i mean by GNOME animations are those animations to enter in app
overview or switching apps using mouse gesture (Activities behavior).
Please check this video for an example of animations which i am talking:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HawbEkNQPMM

These animations are not smooth when Rhythmbox is open. I am not sure if
this is a bug on gnome-shell or something. I am still investigating it and
when i get better informations probably i'll open a bugtrack on Launchpad.

I appreciate your help. :)

Hello Rene,

I am sorry that you didn't receive any reply in 13 days!!!
For me, I was without internet for 8 days but since you sent to the mailing
list, I am sure you expected some replies from more than one member :)

But, just to avoid that in the future, I'd suggest to have a look at:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGNOME/ContactUs#Ask_for_Help_.26_Support

These are the main support channels where you can first of all, search for
similar issues and if nothing found, you can post a new Q, Thread, email,
or Live Chat on IRC.

Rhythmbox and GNOME animations

2013-11-20 Thread Renê Barbosa
Hello folks,

Someone here is experiencing lags on GNOME animations when Rhythmbox is
open? I can work normally with several (8 or more) applications without any
lags on GNOME animations but if i have 1 only application (like Firefox)
and Rhythmbox these animations are not smooth.

I searched for bugs or something like that and didn't found anything then i
wanted to send that message for you guys.

Packages:

ii gnome-shell 3.8.4-0ubuntu5
amd64graphical shell for the GNOME desktop
ii rhythmbox 2.99.1-0ubuntu1
amd64music player and organizer for GNOME

Not sure if version of any other package needs to be checked.
I am using Ubuntu GNOME 13.10.
