Hi Sandeep,

It depends on what hardware you are using. If you are using internal
modem, let me tell you its not going to be easy task. I tried a
various combos for it(when I was a beginner) but gave up and just got
the external modem which works like a breeze.

I have not used internal modems in past 4 years so, I think, some
people who might have used/are using internal modems might respond.

Sandeep you can help them in helping you. If you posted your hardware
information here.

Cheers

Re: [ubuntu-in] punjabi unicode matra character

2007-10-01 Thread nan budh
take a look at this webpage to see the problem:
prabhsharanbir.blogspot.com
now here is a screenshot from Firefox (read the second and the thrid line of
the poem carefully) http://picfu.com/link/247/013b811fb3b1bb22
and here is the screenshot from galeon browser of the same text which shows the
correct characters sequence http://picfu.com/link/248/68fa65cb4f3008af

i want to highlight this bug so that something gets done about it. I will check
the samething on windowsXP and see if firefox does that on that platform too.

thanks for the interest
regards
nanbudh

Can you provide the url of pages you are trying to access. Also if
possible post some screenshots of FF and Galeon showing the page
somewhere so that they can be compared with our experience.
www.picfu.com should help you in posting screenshots.

Well then, thats that I guess. Of course I shall have links to all possible
places in the Ubuntu-In world! After all, these will be the Official Ubuntu
India forums (unlike ubuntu.co.in, which were unofficial). I shall make sure
people search the wiki and mailing list archives before moving onto the
forum. And, I truly hope we succeed in what have actually set out for... Go
Ubuntu! Hail FOSS!

Now, I shall need some suggestions as to what should be the format of the
forums (even though i shall take some tips from the other international LoCo
forums). So, please guide me as to how we can have a better forum board.

Hearty thanks to everyone who participated in this discussion!

Yes I have used XCDRoast, gnomebaker, natilus CD Writer, K3B, brasero,
Nero for Linux, in that order. In my opinion Best apps in my view are

1. K3B (we really nead somthing like this for gnome world)
2. XCDRoast (Most feature complete CD/DVD burning app for X)
3. Nero (Nero get 3 just because its not FOSS, otherwise its number 2)
