Um, go look at the laptop specs, or do a lspci. I am not
aware of laptops that come with a tuner card.

Most (all?) tuner cards do both FM radio, and TV, as the
frequencies are quite close.

With LIRC, you can control your laptop TV/radio application
with an ordinary infra-red remote control. Not sure if Gnome

1. Do Laptops normally contain an FM tuner card (eg. Compaq Presario C500)
or does it have to be bought separately and installed externally?

2. Is it the same as a TV tuner card? Or is it separate from that?

3. What does the above have to do with the link www.lirc.org? A cursory
glance
shows that its a site about infra red remote control. Am I missing some
connection?

I just installed Gutsy, and I'm using linux for the
first time. The good news is that I have finally made
the transition from Windows (which I despise!).
