Dear Friends,

I have just read and signed the online petition:

"DECENT VIA GRAPHICS DRIVERS FOR LINUX"

hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition
service, at:

   http://www.PetitionOnline.com/vialinux/

I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might
agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider
signing yourself.

Best wishes,

known by his IRC nick amachu and if there's something in Tamizh (as
actually pronounced in Tamil), amachu is likely associated with it.

Hi Pratul,
Did you select the NTFS windoze partitions to be mounted during the
partition stage of the Alternate CD installation ?
I extensively use the Alternate CD for installing and prefer it over
the live cd.
Here is a very illustrative tutorial for installing Feisty Fawn using
the Alternate CD with NTFS partitions -->
http://users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/p3.htm
Hey my reply may not be of any help to you, just wanted to clear
doubts that Alternate CD can infact handle NTFS partitons.

Dear Bhavani,Its been a long time since i read the ubuntu-in mail and when today i read this heated conversations about you and others i have to share that two thoughts came into my mind. One is a funny one and the other is a serious one:1.(the funny one): Holy Cow! Bhavani is still at it?2.(the serious one): Why can't he(bhavani) just work? That is if he 'actually' wants to. Why so much talk and discussion? Too many words are just a waste of precious time and energy. It is also a great negative impact on one's creativity.regardsnanbudh

*Reg: support for major Indian Languages:*
At present, baraha type(phonetic keyboard layout - for all Indian
languages) used in MSwindows are not available in Linux or Ubuntu In
Kannada, fonts are not displayed properly nor phonetic keyboard (similar
to baraha of MSwindows) available in Ubuntu
It would be nice to develop stable baraha type in Linux for all Indian
languages earliest possible. for which users will be thankful to you all.

[ubuntu-in] Need a /etc/fstab

2008-01-23 Thread Lut4rp
Hi everyone
I installed gutsy on my box, and I dont know what got into me, I
decided to do it using the text mode CD (alternate). It turns out that
if we use that it doesnt write the fstab for the NTFS windoze
partitions. All it does while startup is mount the ext3 partition.

Will someone be so kind and give me their fstab? Of course, I need one
with NTFS partitions and preferably gutsy (dunno if differs from
distro to distro)
Im having problems, and dont know if NTFS-3g is to be used somewhere.

Since we are in straight talking mode...

Let me start by telling you that you have absolutely no clue about how open
source communities work. And even worse you think this is an Anarchy where
you can do as you please and ignore what everyone else (all of whom are much
more experienced than you) have been trying to tell you over the past year.

So you want to create a fork of Gobuntu just to add a bunch of translations?

That is the lamest reason to start a new distribution. Especially when any
translations that get into ubuntu automatically end up in Gobuntu.

>Let me put these questions to you:
> Do you contribute to ubuntu actively enough?

Here we go back to your obsession with having your "name on the wall" and
your craving for recognition.

Unlike you, most of us here contribute because we can, not because we crave
for fame and glory.

And my launchpad account won't be filled with lies like you have on your
page.

I have never and will never steal someone else's code and claim it as mine,
but you obviously have no problems doing that. Remember that 6 year old
apache exploit that you "re-writed"?

And for your information there are no software patents in India so whatever
"patented" software that you claimed to be working on that you can't talk
about is obviously 100% BS too.

So as things stand IMO you just steal other peoples code and are a liar, and I
have yet to see any worthwhile contribution from you.

I believe I have done more than my fair share to the FOSS community in
India, definitely a LOT more than you probably ever will if you continue
with this crappy attitude of yours... and I said above, you are just a thief
and a liar and I don't need to explain myself to scum like you.

Also you obviously have no idea who I am, considering this is what you said
yesterday on IRC ...

--begin--
[22 Jan/16:30]< coolbhavi> real name kingsly John an engineer and a market
research expert in bangalore
--end--

Just so you know you got it 50% wrong .. the only thing right is my name and
where I live.

> Lastly, Dont flame, If you dont have the time on your hands to contribute..
> Please let interested people contribute.

We all know that you have too much time on your hands and you are wasting
our time by launching multiple DOA projects on launchpad and undermining the
efforts of people that are actually contributing. And quite honestly I don't
believe you have contributed anything other than all the heated discussions
on this mailing list and on IRC.

Kingsly

PS: Sorry list admins, but I couldn't put up with this guy's stupidity any
more.

And will you ever read the Mailing List Guidelines and follow
netiquettes of chopping off parts from previous mails and quoting
only directly related parts to which you are answering? Half of your
mails end up in admin's box because you are including too much quoted
content in your replies.

Thanks in advance.
