For music and other media types, check if you have gstreamer plugins. Just
search for it under the Ubuntu Software Center and install 'Ubuntu
restricted extras' and 'gstreamer'.

[ubuntu-in] Easy Image Uploading: WRT Mailman Moderation Policy Thread

Here is an easy way to upload pictures to Image Shack(a free image sharing
site, if you don't know already) right from your desktop.

1) Install the package "python-pycurl".

2) Install PyShare Nautilus script form here-
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/pyshare

3) Extract it and copy the folder contents to .gnome2/nautilus scripts
folder in /home.

4) After that, when you right click on an image, there is an option to
upload to ImageShack(Scripts--->
SendFiles). It will also give the link after uploading.

Don't give Microsoft the remote control. Don't use Windows 7. <

Hi All,

I have added subject filter rules to mailman configuration. Now we
should not be receiving any invite emails from a bunch of social
networking sites. If some new site pops up I will update the filter.
In case any of your legitimate emails do not get through smoothly, do
send an email to the ( admins [at] ubuntu-in [dot] info )

We shall make the necessary corrections.

Wish you all a very happy Ubunterous, spam free New Year 2010 :)

That is great! I am also involved in the system documentation of Ubuntu.
Right now Kubuntu system documentation is under active development as the
team is rewriting the whole documentation.
You might want to have a look at the links below for getting proper guidance
to get involved with Ubuntu's documentation team.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocumentationTeam/

Also check
thisfor
Kubuntu specific tasks. A lot of things have been written and needs
review. This is where you might kick in. Though it is not the only area and
feel free to contribute in any manner as it pleases you.

I understand that trimming of messages is necessary but sometimes I felt the
size limit we are given currently is too less. For example my reply to the
thread "*uses of /home being on a different partition*" on 24th December got
stuck for moderation. I still wonder whether that was a big mail??

Can you guys please check and tell me if I am wrong?
