[Bug 501298] [NEW] rhythmbox doesn't integrate into notify-osd| indicator-applet
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox As you can see in this post: http://benste.blogspot.com/2009/09/music-applet-furs-gnome-panel.html Rhythmbox comes up with light yellow bubbles as title notification instead of the default transparent gray one (from indicator applet) Installing music-applet and adding it to the panel corrects this issue. I would prefer to have it either installed in lucid by deafult or integrate it into the default installation of rhytmbox - e.g. as plugin, code may be copied from music-applet's source OR ? [Bug 501117] Re: jokosher does not open in 10.4
It sounds to me like the internal structure of gtk.Statusbar has changed in a recent GTK/PyGTK release. self.label = self.get_children()[0].get_children()[0] Is a very hacky way of getting hold of the label contained within the statusbar so that we're able to make use of markup in our status messages. I guess the only correct way to handle this would be to see if we can get GTK to add support for setting markup on statusbars natively. For now I guess we'll have to check the GTK version in use and get the appropriate child for each version. -- jokosher does not open in 10.4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501117 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 501309] [NEW] Dragging or restoring a window is choppy and slow when Nautilus renders desktop
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Environment: this bug is made with ubuntu-bug so I assume the relevant versions and packages are attached. The symptoms are: - Dragging windows across the screen stutters visibly, intermittently halting for up to half a second. CPU usage is very high at those points, the X (Xorg) Process specifically. - Restoring a window from its maximized state is similar, the window is reduced to its normal size but it takes up to 2-3 seconds for the window itself to redraw and (probably more importantly) for the desktop to redraw or refresh I've been able to exclude most typical graphics causes such as the nvidia driver or Xorg itself by trying the same in KDE which does not exhibit the problem (same machine, same config). In fact I can narrow it down specifically to Nautilus: when I go into gconf-editor and set the property /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop to false (unchecked) then the problem goes away. So in effect, only when Nautilus is drawing the desktop does this problem occur. Looking around in the Samba linux-cifs-client archives, it seems that to get DFS working, you need to first install the package keyutils and to add to /etc/request-key.conf something like: create cifs.spnego* * /usr/local/sbin/cifs.upcall -c %k create dns_resolver * * /usr/local/sbin/cifs.upcall %k The second line seems important here, the first one is for kerberos. man cifs.upcall to get more info. It appears that anyone can change the status of a bug (including us). Kalda and Peter both have 0 lauchpad karma - Peter has posted two bug comments in the past two years and Kalda's account was created today. Neither one includes a public email address, so we can't contact them directly. Thus I'm concerned that they may not be people in an appropriate position to mark bugs as incomplete. Kalda and Peter, if you're active contributors to the project, could you let us know what information is missing? All of us would like to help strengthen the project, and are willing to help if you let us know what is needed.
