[ubuntu-in] Participation from Ubuntu India LoCo
Hello Folks The past few days the mailing list has seen a lot of activity with people who want to contribute to Ubuntu and the Ubuntu India Loco. So this mail is just pointers about how to contribute *Artwork* This is where the GIMP and Inkscape experts can put your creativity to best use. The artwork team helps design graphics and backgrounds, or themes of the next release. For contributing to the Ubuntu Arkwork Team https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork If your interested in contributing to the Indian LoCo-specific Artwork http://ubuntu-in.info/wiki/index.php/Projects#Ubuntu_India_System-Look *Bug Squad* The BugSquad is the first point of contact for the bugs filed about Ubuntu. They assign bugs to packages, ensure that bug reports are complete, find duplicate bug reports, recreate bugs, and forward bugs to their upstream authors. All of these activities help the bug get fixed and subsequently make Ubuntu even better. For contributing to Bug Squad https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugSquad *Documentation Team* The Documentation Team is a group of community volunteers responsible for writing, editing and updating the system documentation that ships with the Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu and Edubuntu desktop operating systems. New versions of these guides are available with each new release of Ubuntu, and these are translated with the Rosetta translation tool in the same manner as all of the other applications in Ubuntu. For contributing to the Documentation Team https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocumentationTeam *Support* If you've got time to spare and can help give out community support is various formats. To contribute as a community support person http://www.ubuntu.com/support/CommunitySupport *Development* Anyone with the necessary technical skills can contribute to the development of Ubuntu. If you want to learn, you can find a mentor within the development team to help you along. To contribute to development teams https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment *LoCo Contributions* This is where the Indian Team really needs contributions. I'm looking forward to having a release party in major cities for Lucid at least. If more people are interested in leading the parties in their cities, add your names to the list in the Ubuntu India website (http://ubuntu-in.info/wiki/index.php/Lucid_Release_Party) These are my ideas and I'm looking forward to more suggestions and participation from everyone on the list.
