Just for my future reference and to also hopefully make your life a

 a `debcheckout apport` hoping that was correct

Hm, that should be; I just wondered because your branch is an Ubuntu
packaging one, while apport's is not (yet), and bzr merge complained
about an invalid URL.

Re: [Bug 431872] Re: Difficulties to switch the selected language for the whole document (in the spelling check feature)

2010-02-25 Thread Boris Rogier
Hi,
I got as an answer that the bug could not be reproduced (maybe I have not
described it correctly...)...

*The OOo window at the bottom clearly shows it is in English (UK) mode*
*anglais (royaume-uni) in French.*
*
 Changed in: **openoffice.org* http://openoffice.org* (Ubuntu)*
*  Status: New = Incomplete*

I have found a workaround, which consists in changing the language setting
through the window at the bottom (which works fine) and not through the
menus (Tools Language etc...).

It seems to me that it is 'changing the language setting' through the menus
which does not work properly.

Regards,
Boris

On 25 February 2010 08:41, Worik worik.stan...@gmail.com wrote:

 I have the same problem.

When I saved a word document in ODT format the spell checker is using
USA English. I changed the language in the tools-options menu to UK
 English.

The language selection in the options stays UK English but every time I
do a spell check it uses USA English. If I select UK English in the
spell check dialogue it reverts to USA English for the next word that is
not spelt correctly in USA English.

[Bug 527623] [NEW] Notification of missing language support not shown after installation

2010-02-25 Thread David Planella
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-selector

During testing of the pre-Alpha3 ISOs, I run the test case with no
network installation for a language not included in the ISO's language

translations for my language were not installed and that I should

Public bug reported:

I own a N900 and have it attached to my PC in order to charge it and in order

[Bug 459198] Re: Can't install Ubuntu 9.10, hangs before installing

2010-02-25 Thread LittleMouse87
The problem is that even if someone fixed the bug (and no-one seems to
be interested in doing that, four months on from the original filing of
the bug), there is no way to get the update, since the ISOs are never
updated after the original release. Since we can't even boot into the
LiveCD environment, we can't get the update, so we just end up waiting
for the next release. Very disappointing indeed.

[Bug 522554] Re: Logged out when typing 2 or @

2010-02-25 Thread Graziano
Gosh I have to press the 2 key in my password and I have to login
always twice... Also for me this is the closest description of the
behaviour I have managed to find.

Environment: Ubuntu lucid, NVIDIA OR NV drivers.
Signs: Screen shows distorted pixels on top left.

IF I see a non perfect screen (some key sequence seems to be sent to terminal)
and I press the key 2, the X server restarts. No strange signs on logs
(ending on request).
Second time I always get a perfect gdm login screen and I can login
successfully. Never happens again, even if I logout and login again.

SEEMS some spurious characters coming out from startup are pushed to tty7, and
request a gdm restart AFTER the key 2 pression.
This is mostly an annoyance for me, but for sure can hide something more
serious.

[Bug 208139] Re: Recordmydesktop has exited with status 768

2010-02-25 Thread Martin Pihl
I have this problem as well.

Using pasuspender -- /usr/bin/gtk-recordMyDesktop as suggested removes
the error alright, but also sound, unfortunately.

So this is really not a solution if you need to record sound as I do.

recordMyDesktop works fine for me until I start Virtualbox and a VM.
It's not until then I get the error message from this bug report, and
nothing of it's kind before starting the VM.

[Bug 526733] stop

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 234835 ***

Sorry this is a bug. Nobody should have to reinstall it 6 ou 7 time
until they realise that the system doesn't tell what it needs to work
properly. Nobody should i have to desactivate something to make it work
properly, and where whould i call this : ubiquity --no-migration-
assistant. I don't want to know, I just want it to work.

 Solution to correct this bug:
1- After a manual partitionning, Ubiquity check if there a partition that is
already called /home and make the user chose. (something like : Oh I see you
already have an installation on /home, you're a cleaver linux user so I'll
make you save your datas, do you want to use the same user name or create
another one and access your datas once Ubuntu is fully installed?
2- If it's too complicated, obey to what the user said. If he chose a new
partition to be /home, don't look anywhere else, and install it to this exact
location. So the user can try to restore is data hardfully later (mine are
 already lost).

Once this is done, the migration assistant work perfectly and make the
user chose if they want to import their Windows documents. (my
recommandation would be to just to make a shortcut instead of a copy).

Hope this bug get solved by a programmer, not by the users.

re: [Bug 450569] Re: package openoffice.org-emailmerge 1:3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1 failed to install/upgrade:

2010-02-25 Thread D.Schaap
Misschien kunt U enige verlichting aanbrengen.
hartelijke groet,
Douwe Schaap.

[Bug 527638] [NEW] Xorg crashes on startup

2010-02-25 Thread obrowny
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

When I start my computer with autologin, I can use firefox or mines
without any problem. If I check for updates X crashes when I press enter
after entering my password and goes back to GDM. Then if I log in again,
everything works well. While it crashes I see colours like red
blue...and then back to gdm.

It happens with Nvidia drivers and also with Nouveau there is no
difference.

If I connect myself through GDM, it crashes after having entered my
password and comes back to GDM. Then after a second login, everything
works well.

I join the gdm log

[Bug 429510] Re: package dahdi 1:2.2.0-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

After installing linux-headers-2.6.31-19-server:

I then installed wget and ran /etc/kernel/header_postinst.d/dkms

This is 9.10 amd64. Looks like headers and wget dependencies would be
good.

Testing on lucid would be much appreciated.

[Bug 527639] [NEW] boinc should use chrt instead of schedtool

2010-02-25 Thread Eugene Kapun
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: boinc-client

boinc-client 6.4.5+dfsg-2ubuntu2.
Currently boinc-client init script (/etc/init.d/boinc-client) uses schedtool to
set scheduling policy for BOINC client. I think it should use chrt(1) for this,
because:
* schedtool has to be installed separately, and nothing except boinc-client
depend on it.
* chrt is a part of util-linux package, which is essential, so almost every
Ubuntu user has it installed.

2010-02-25 Thread kit
If you've just recently upgraded, I'd assume your previous kernel (the
one that worked) is still on your computer. Can you boot the computer
with that kernel and confirm you don't have a problem? And if that's
the case can you post back what kernel version that was. Thanks.

automatically, but on my server (another pc) using a wifi-usb-dongle, it
doesn't... even if I restart network, the device doesn't work anymore... I
have to unplug it and plug again and then it reconnects.
This BUG is very critical because I MUST use wireless... and so I can't use

[Bug 461996] Re: In Karmic, LyX cannot find included pdf file (pdfpages)

2010-02-25 Thread arno_b
With the fix I still have a: Error converting to loadable format in lyx for
pdf pictures.
despite I cannot see pdf pictures in lyx since Karmic, I never had problem to
export as pdf using pdflatex as the reporter of this bug has.
Maybe these two problems do not come from the same issue.

[Bug 380090] Re: Tomboy retains ugly default gtk look in KDE 4

2010-02-25 Thread Pierre Rust
I can confirm this, I've got the same problem on Kubuntu 9.10 when running
tomboy.
Strange thing is, tomboy looks perfectly fine when run from the command line or
from Alt+F2 (KRunner) but looks ugly when started from kde menu.

It happens that the kde menu launch tomboy --search ; if you remove
the -- search option tomboy looks fine (thought it only appears in the
systray the search window is not automatically displayed).

So it seems to be a bug in tomboy and not in kde integration.

[Bug 480815] Re: No record-signal from internal mic (Notebook, Sigmatel, HDA Intel)

2010-02-25 Thread MMarking
After a fresh reboot sometimes Pulseaudio Volume Meter recorder shows
mic working briefly. But soon dies after a few minutes.

Looks like I found the right bug. I also have 00:14.2 Audio device:
ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) with an ALC262
controller. The problem seems to be described here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1381013

and I filed a new bug here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/alsa-driver/+bug/523953

I understand that the Karmic alsa backports package is just that, a
backport, but since Lucid will have Alsa 1.0.22.1 by default, I hope the
devs fix this issue before then.

Removing the alsa backports package and reverting to Alsa 1.0.20 solves
the issue of the mic and line-in dying after awhile, on my system at
least.

[Bug 76982] Re: Can't open g-p-m help

2010-02-25 Thread Chris Coulson
jimav - your issue is not a bug, but rather a broken configuration. By
default, ghelp URI's are opened in Yelp, which would work fine. If it's
attempting to open it in Firefox then you (or something) has changed the
handler for ghelp URI's on your profile. Firefox isn't designed to
handle ghelp URI's, so that's not really a bug in your case.
