[Bug 761065] Re: [Sandybridge] Spurious *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... blt ring idle messages in dmesg when using compiz
I have the same issue here but I discovered that, if I run a 3D program like celestia, nexuiz or even a 3d screensaver like one with the wireframe ant, the problem vanishes with a -39 kernel. In a discussion with Chris Van Hoof today he tells me he thinks the new kernel just masks the error but, at least to the user's POV it actually solves it for the common applications the users run. I kept nexuiz running for more than 2 hours and haven't noticed a single freeze. I would like to ask the priority to be raised as this can affect many new systems. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Confirmed ** Tags added: kernel-bug -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/761065 Title: [Sandybridge] Spurious *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... blt ring idle messages in dmesg when using compiz -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: MID Edition vs Netbook Remix
Przemysław Kulczycki escreveu: Is the recently announced Ubuntu MID Edition the same as earlier announced Ubuntu Netbook Remix? Or is the Netbook Remix just based on MID Edition? The MID Edition announcement doesn't mention it and it might create confusion. Hello. They are separate projects. Ubuntu MID Edition was recently launched (http://blog.canonical.com/?p=13) and it's a platform created to support MID-type devices. The Ubuntu Netbook Remix is basically a standard Ubuntu desktop tweaked to work better with smaller screen devices. Re: Hildon application porting question
Spencer, Bob escreveu: Is there a way to setup configure.ac so that it automatically sets the USE_HILDON flag if building for LCIA? I know how to set up a configure.ac that will check for --enable-hildon flag, but for UME I thought I recall that if LCIA arch then always USE_HILDON. I don't know exactly how to do this or if we ever decided on a standard. Hi Bob. I usually add this rule to debian/rules ifeq ($(DEB_BUILD_ARCH), lpia) DEB_CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS = --enable-hildon endif Which causes the congiure be called with an extra --enable-hildon in case the lpia arch is being build. This, plus something like that in configure.ac or configure.in hildon=false HILDON_CFLAGS= HILDON_LIBS= AC_ARG_ENABLE(hildon,AS_HELP_STRING([--enable-hildon],[Turn on hildon support]),[ if test x$enableval = xyes; then hildon=true PKG_CHECK_MODULES(HILDON,[hildon-1], HAVE_HILDON=yes,HAVE_HILDON=no) HILDON_CFLAGS=$HILDON_CFLAGS -DWITH_HILDON=1 PACKAGE_CFLAGS=$PACKAGE_CFLAGS $HILDON_CFLAGS PACKAGE_LIBS=$PACKAGE_LIBS $HILDON_LIBS fi ]) Will enable a HAVE_HILDON flag you can test in building time to enable or disable your changes for the lpia arch. Hi. As some of you already know, I'm joining the Solutions Group in a new role as Field Engineer starting by 30/05. During those next weeks, except next one as I'll be on vacations), I'll be working on integrate myself into this new role and passing my current obligations so, if you need anything new, talk to David or Löic first, please. I know next to nothing about emulation but I believe that, if isn't possible for dosemu to overcome this situation, at least a message giving a clue about mmap_min_addr should be issued so the user can choose. [Bug 223426] [NEW] At least one media player plugin for firefox should be installed by default.
Public bug reported: Doing a clean installation of Ubuntu 8.04, I noticed that no media player plugin is installed by default nor it's asked to do so if a page that needs something like that is accessed. This happens in pages that stream videos not flash-based IFAICT. In my personal case, I rather use mplayer instead of toten so I just installed mozilla-mplayer and all works fine now but I believe this should be done automatically. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- At least one media player plugin for firefox should be installed by default. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/223426 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Status report for Apr 10 to Apr 16
* Working on a clock application for the SoW. The bits are already in place, sowing (no pun intended) all together now. * Tested several different combinations to interface and present things that could be interesting to be kept visible to the user as a clock, calendar or a weather applet. The problem is that the current way to present the menu enters in the way and takes the whole home space. The native home applets work well thought and it's an alternative to the current html interface. A little bit of cairo + xcompmgr does a lot of difference visually, btw :) []s Adilson. -- Ubuntu-mobile mailing list Ubuntu-mobile@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-mobile
