[Bug 530394] Re: gwibber claims my Facebook password is incorrect but the same password works on Facebook itself
unfortunately I cannot verify whether this still is or is not an issue because I am also affected by the other bug which prevents me from adding my facebook account to gwibber. I am eagerly awaiting a fix. In the meantime, I am not using gwibber. -- gwibber claims my Facebook password is incorrect but the same password works on Facebook itself https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/530394 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 580317] Re: Cannot add a facebook account, twitter working fine.
Looks like lots of people are having this problem. The thing is, I had it working before and now it just does not work any more. Could it be that some recent update has damaged gwibber? -- Cannot add a facebook account, twitter working fine. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/580317 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 595265] Re: Can not add Facebook account as add button not displayed after authorisation.
I am having the same problem. I managed to fix it by deleting the ~/.gconf/apps/gwibber directory. But the problem just reoccurred eventually because I tried removing facebook again from gwibber because of some other stupid problem. This time I cannot fix it by the same method and I am back to square one. I am on the verge of giving up with gwibber entirely until a working version is released. -- Can not add Facebook account as add button not displayed after authorisation. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/595265 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 530394] Re: gwibber claims my Facebook password is incorrect but the same password works on Facebook itself
@ Jari Could you be more specific about which directory you are talking about? I tried clearing out ~/.cache/gwibber and also ~/.gconf/apps/gwibber and none of these solved my problem. @Omar I cannot provide a screenshot for you because now I am back to square one where I cannot even add my Facebook account. Jari's description above in post #13 is very accurate; this is exactly what happens for me. I don't understand how gwibber was working normally, but then since last weekend it has demolished itself. [Bug 530394] Re: gwibber claims my Facebook password is incorrect but the same password works on Facebook itself
In synaptic package manager I tried to Force Version because there is a choice of either: 2.3.0.1-0ubuntu3 (lucid-updates) 2.3.0.1-0ubuntu1 (lucid) If I try the latter, then I get the following error E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. [Bug 530394] Re: gwibber claims my Facebook password is incorrect but the same password works on Facebook itself
There are two problems here I have been having using gwibber 2.30.0.1 on Ubuntu 10.04. Both of them have been experienced by other people,. 1. Since Saturday I have not been able to post anything. It worked fine on Saturday, now it doesn't. You click send, and nothing happens. 2. After deleting my facebook account from gwibber in an attempt to set it up again, gwibber would not let me add a facebook account to my list. After entering my username and password, the Add button was simply not there. 3. After reinstalling gwibber and deleting the config files, I could add facebook again, but I still could not post anything and the feed was bearing no relationship to current events. This time, after clicking send, I get the message telling me there was an authentication error. Deleted the account from gwibber again, and now I'm back to the situation where there is no Add button. Can anyone help with this, or is this bug considered closed? If it is solved, could someone please help me reproduce the solution? It doesn't help if someone just says well it now works for me, therefore problem solved. -- gwibber claims my Facebook password is incorrect but the same password works on Facebook itself https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/530394 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

no, the problem is with gwibber. I did not have this problem before. Ever since yesterday, gwibber cannot connect to facebook. I can log into Facebook on the website, but not with gwibber.
