According to this screenshot - It looks like version 2.30 resolves this issue...Is that true? I am currently running ver 2.28. I am not an Ubuntu authority or any thing close...But I love the speed of Ubuntu over windows and want to again convert disappointed and upset Windows users to try Ubuntu. Evolution is a big part of my Ubuntu experience, because it had done such a great job of duplicating Outlook. It is very important that we get Evolution working reliably. OK, I modified my sources.list (attached), turned off beryl-manager in the Sessions area, rebooted and logged in to a standard GNOME session. Still the same error. I am running the nVidia driver and have the RenderAccel True line in it, but other than that I think it's pretty clean. I still have a gdm selection to activate Xgl but am not running it right now.
