[Bug 513273] Re: kvm with -vga std is broken since karmic

2010-03-30 Thread Daniele Smartango
Dustin, I see a commit in cvs in 2008-12-04 and next in 2009-01-24 I say
included bios is 23 Dec 2008
it is ok to downgrade to 2008-12-04 version and report to qemu developer or
vgabios developer
the problem.

However qemu developer sudjest to use provided vgabios, thus the problem
seems to be known ...

ok, what is missing is to test if cvs 2008-12-04 vgabios commit works
with -vga std switch

[Bug 532756] Re: [GeForce 6100 GO] Image and Xv corruption

2010-03-26 Thread Daniele Smartango
I can almost confirm that there is no more screen corruption with latest kernel:
3 boot and what I see is corruption before gdm set background, then screen
rendered correctly.
Still corruption in xv video playback.

[Bug 532756] Re: [GeForce 6100 GO] Image and Xv corruption

2010-03-16 Thread Daniele Smartango
Sorry, this do not make sense to me, corruption is random, sometime happen
sometime no ...
Anyway disabling acceleration is not an option if someone want to use pc for
something else than have nice picture on monitor:
every time I scroll I have to wait 2 second for monitor to refresh ...
for some reason application (or gtk or other library) use heavy algorithm
for scrolling that make things more slowly than a 15 year old pc.
The only option for scrolling in firefox (continuous) is disabled.

I reenabled accel, I randomly get no corrupted screen, tough I set NoXVideo true
but it is not used.

There is an option to disable nouveau for some chipset and use nv?
thus option for who want to test nouveau on go 6100
is to use edges archives

Your Xorg.0.log indicates that you've got the binary nvidia drivers
installed. As only one driver can bind to the graphics card, installing
the nvidia binary drivers will disable nouveau.

Does nouveau work if you disable the restricted nvidia drivers in
 System→Administration→Hardware Drivers and reboot?

I do not have system-Administration-Hardware driver in my menu, which
command I have to issue, also if nouveau conflict with nvidia it should
be stated somewhere ... I have to remove nvidia-current and all nvidia
packages ?

[Bug 515109] Re: cannot suspend usb devices on lucid

2010-03-07 Thread Daniele Smartango
theeld rule works only on first load of module, after first suspend I have
$ cat /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-6/power/wakeup
enabled
so system do not suspend, I do not know if there is action resume or something
that do the trick or it has to be done somewhere else
