[Bug 304885] [NEW] add patch for amd64 arch

2008-12-03 Thread Daniele Smartango
Public bug reported:

Gregor Jasny said:

for 32bit Skype on 64bit Linux you'll need an additional kernel patch:

http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=c7f09db6852d85e7f76322815051aad1c88d08cf
...

(it is for make cam work with libv4l32 library in skype)

could this simple patch be added to ubuntu kernel ?

(I do not try this patch because of broken make-kpkg)

thanks

[Bug 184139] Re: lsusb does not work

2008-10-24 Thread Daniele Smartango
I can not remember when/how do I solve this problem but now it works
fine...

... and I still have this three line from strace:

open(./usb.ids, O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
open(./usb.ids.gz, O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
open(/var/lib/misc/usb.ids, O_RDONLY) = 3

..well, if you like, you can compare with your output of strace lsusb, I do not
see
what is difference.

I think that if only me had this problem and only for limited time, bug
should be closed

I solve the problem removing all firefox packages, removing by hand
/usr/lib/firefox-3.0 directory (it was not empty) and reinstalling packages.
I do not know why but something was unclean in chrome dir after upgrade.
Now it works, it is ok for me to close this since noone having the same problem
