[Bug 861020] Re: package libaio-dev (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/include/libaio.h', which is also in package libaio:i386 0.3.104-1

2011-09-30 Thread Eduardo Ribeiro Rodrigues
Hi,

That's a very good question. I have no idea. But I was able to get
around this issue by removing this strange version I had and installing
the newer version.

Tks anyways.

[Bug 541492] Re: MASTER: [i845] GPU lockup (apport-crash) (Should KMS be blacklisted?)

2010-05-30 Thread Eduardo Ribeiro Rodrigues
I think the key here is the 3D stuff (OpenGL). In my case, what I
noticed as the culprit was the screensaver. Once I disabled it, even
with power management enabled, putting the monitor to sleep and despite
the fact I use a KVM that most of the time is not selected to the Ubuntu
machine, I haven't get any X crashes.

Just applied the PPA patch and re-enabled my GL screensaver. Let's
see...

[Bug 582564] Re: X keeps crashing in Lucid

2010-05-27 Thread Eduardo Ribeiro Rodrigues
I'm being affected by this very same error. Only difference is that, in
my case, I never saw a crash while I was using the system. But whenever
it stays idle for a long time (i.e. during night time), I get a dialog
saying something like Ubuntu is running in low graphics mode... and
Xorg.0.log contains exact same fatal error message: failed to submit
batchbuffer: Input/output error.

I guess it's also important to notice that I'm using a Trendnet 409K 4
port KVM switch, which during the idle time before the problem happens
is never selected on the Ubuntu machine.

[Bug 579653] Re: 10.04 - Xorg Crash: Video device settings could not be detected correctly

2010-05-27 Thread Eduardo Ribeiro Rodrigues
I have same problem with Dell Optiplex 755 with Intel chipset and using
both kernel 2.6.32-22 and 2.6.34-020634.

In my case, the issue never happened while I'm actively using the system
but after a long idle time (usually during night time).

Maybe another important info is that I'm using a Trendnet 409K 4 port
KVM switch and, during the idle time before the problem happens, the KVM
is never selected on the Ubuntu machine.

[Bug 582564] Re: X keeps crashing in Lucid

2010-05-27 Thread Eduardo Ribeiro Rodrigues
One more detail: I had a 3D screensaver configured. I saw some other
similar bugs relating to OpenGL stuff, so now I selected blank screen as
screensaver and will see how it behaves.
