[Bug 1037001] Re: [l10n][zh_CN] Indicator menus should be fully localized for installer

2012-08-15 Thread Gary Ekker
Sebastien, this is against 12.04.1 ISO image for China. Can you verify
that we have the correct ubuntu-defaults package installed and that it
is pulling in the correct language packs, this should be translated at
100% for 12.04.

Sebastien, Martin,

Looks like we might not be getting ubuntu-defaults-zh-cn installed in
the Chinese image for 12.04.1. We saw this regression with 12.04 as
well...

Follow-up on this is that the customization of the default home page for

2012-07-06 Thread Gary Ekker
The default homepage was changed for 11.10 from http://start.ubuntu.com
to http://hao123.com based on feedback that it is a better experience
for users in China. This was discussed at UDS and agreed by Ubuntu
community members in China. Can you help me understand why you think it
is not proper, or what the concern is around this in the community? It
isn't clear to me from the links above.

2011-10-06 Thread Gary Ekker
Hi Alex, I'm not seeing this particular behavior any longer, still
seeing a fair amount of compiz instability, but I'm sure you're on top
of that.

2011-07-28 Thread Gary Ekker
Public bug reported:

I've been running natty since beta 1. Last week, approximately, compiz
started going to 100% utilization while switching workspaces with the

   - Release on Oct 25 means UDS on Nov 12-17 (the week before Thanksgiving)

Does UDS have to be a fixed number of days from the release?

If we're looking to permanently align schedules, then +1 for UDS on Nov
5-9. Many of us have kids and it would not be pleasant to set things up
such that we *always* miss Halloween. The week before Thanksgiving
might work, but seems like some people get hit by Ubuflu or Icelandic
volcanoes or whatever, so guess it could be risky for folks.

+1 I'm with Bryce on this one :)
