[Bug 1745960] Re: blank screen after upgrade to firefox:amd64 58.0+build6-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
It seems to have been caused by the AdBlock Plus extension. Disabling it is enough to bring things back in order in firefox 58 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1745960 Title: blank screen after upgrade to firefox:amd64 58.0+build6-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1745960/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1745960] [NEW] blank screen after upgrade to firefox:amd64 58.0+build6-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported: In Ubuntu 14.04 I recently updated firefox 57.0 to 58.0+build6-0ubuntu0.14.04.1. Installation was smooth, but the firefox screen has been blank since. Everything is working again if I downgrade to 57.0.4+build1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 Is anybody experiencing this problem? Being concerned about security (it was a security update), I have switched to firefox-esr. Does this sound reasonable? ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Information type changed from Private Security to Public Security -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1745960 Title: blank screen after upgrade to firefox:amd64 58.0+build6-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1745960/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1316035] Re: matrox g200eR2 is unclaimed in 14.04
Note that after installing the mgag200 module, I also had to change Xorg configuration, as described in comment #32, replacing "mga" with "mgag200" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316035 Title: matrox g200eR2 is unclaimed in 14.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1316035/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1316035] Re: matrox g200eR2 is unclaimed in 14.04
Had the same problem on a Dell PowerEdge T430 with Ubuntu 16.10. Installing module mgag200 as suggested by Ivo Straka's (approach n. 1) worked for me. I followed the recipe in http://askubuntu.com/questions/168279/how-do-i-build-a-single-in-tree- kernel-module just changing the kernel number, etc. # lshw -c display *-display description: VGA compatible controller product: G200eR2 vendor: Matrox Electronics Systems Ltd. physical id: 0 bus info: pci@:08:00.0 version: 01 width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm vga_controller bus_master cap_list rom configuration: driver=mgag200 latency=64 maxlatency=32 mingnt=16 resources: irq:17 memory:9000-90ff memory:9180-91803fff memory:9100-917f memory:c-d # uname -a Linux dell16 4.8.0-59-generic #64-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 29 19:38:34 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316035 Title: matrox g200eR2 is unclaimed in 14.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1316035/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 525154] Re: mountall for /var races with rpc.statd
I also have a separate /var filesystem and had a problem with autofs, which was cured by the solution proposed in #13.
