[Bug 1164499] [NEW] Sound card stopped working after using HDMI
Public bug reported: So a couple of days ago, I had my laptop hooked up to my tv via HDMI. I used pavucontrol to disable sound on my laptop and play it through the tv. I changed it back when I was done. Can't remember if I used it right away. Last night I tried to use it and it didn't work. I opened pavucontrol again and switched to the configuration tab where there had previously been a drop down menu allowing me to choose what device to output my sound through. Now there's nothing. It says no card available for configuration. When I open asoundconf-gtk it only has PCH and selecting that does nothing either. Here is my output of pulseaudio -d http://pastebin.com/75SpLihg And using https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PulseAudio/Log I made a log http://pastebin.com/rmARXUMD I've tried deleting the pulse folder from my home directory and restarting the server. After searching on Google, I found similar problems required me to edit /etc/pulse/client.conf and make sure autospawn is set to yes and everything is commented out with a semicolon, which it is. Tried using qasmixer to make sure sound isn't disabled. Nothing works. . I've tried posting on the Ubuntu-Forums.org site and got no help there so I'm trying here because I dont want to reboot into Win7 to stream videos or listen to my mp3s. Here is the client.conf http://pastebin.com/ahWxXB5X Here is the daemon.conf http://pastebin.com/gRyCsjdb Running Lubuntu 12.10 with kernel 3.5.0-24-generic. [Bug 181522] ndiswrapper - wireless card randomly stopped working
Public bug reported: About a week ago my wireless card which is PCMCIA stopped working. The lights on it don't come on any more and I can't seem to get it detected by Ubuntu (feisty) at all. I can still get a wired connection so I'm not sure what's wrong. I thought maybe because I've had trouble sticking the card into the slot lately that I bent a pin or something but seeing as it was in for a few days without being removed at all, I can't see how that could've ruined it. It was working one day and the next it stopped. It really doesn't make sense to me at all. I didn't change anything at all on the computer. The only thing I had done is used msn and copied a few music files from it to my desktop. A couple days later, I checked the pins and everything and they seemed fine. I tried reinstalling the drivers using the latest version of ndiswrapper and to no avail. I have checked all the main things like dmesg, lspci, lshw -C network. It shows ndiswrapper as being loaded when I do lsmod. [Bug 153450] Re: gdesklets won't run, python problem
After recent upgrade in some python files, most programs wont run until I run that stupid export command and even then, they only run from the terminal. This is really starting to piss me off. I get a new error, that says gksudo /usr/sbin/synaptic gksudo: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_add_idle I can barely use my computer now. -- gdesklets won't run, python problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153450 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 153450] Re: gdesklets won't run, python problem
Well I deleted those libraries and installed the ones in the repos and it's still giving me these troubles. I've already removed everything from my system I could find related to python including a lot of programs I used and reinstalled them. It did nothing. So I don't think it's just because I had built the sources myself. I've never had this problem before, compiling my own libraries otherwise I'd have avoided it. [Bug 74457] Will not start unless via cmdline
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: wine I'm having problems running anything with wine unless I do so via the commandline and it seems to output a long error while launching and during use, especially with Guitar Pro 5 (a lot of it is the same thing repeated though from the looks of it). I thought it might just be GP5 but I can't seem to launch anything else through my KMenu (most programs created the links on their own) so I'm not sure. Anyway, here's what I get. Oh and all the menu links and everything worked before I upgraded to Edgy, not sure if that may have caused a problem somewhere or what. [Bug 53287] Re: Konqueror crash opening video
I tried using gxine, vlc media player and mplayer to play it. It's fine now. I've also upgraded the kernel too.
