[Bug 1164499] [NEW] Sound card stopped working after using HDMI

2013-04-04 Thread Kreuger Burns
Public bug reported:

So a couple of days ago, I had my laptop hooked up to my tv via HDMI. I
used pavucontrol to disable sound on my laptop and play it through the
tv. I changed it back when I was done. Can't remember if I used it right
away. Last night I tried to use it and it didn't work. I opened
pavucontrol again and switched to the configuration tab where there had
previously been a drop down menu allowing me to choose what device to
output my sound through. Now there's nothing. It says no card available
for configuration. When I open asoundconf-gtk it only has PCH and
selecting that does nothing either.

Here is my output of pulseaudio -d http://pastebin.com/75SpLihg

And using https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PulseAudio/Log I made a log
http://pastebin.com/rmARXUMD

I've tried deleting the pulse folder from my home directory and restarting the
server. After searching on Google, I found similar problems required me to edit
/etc/pulse/client.conf and make sure autospawn is set to yes and everything is
commented out with a semicolon, which it is. Tried using qasmixer to make sure
sound isn't disabled. Nothing works.
.
I've tried posting on the Ubuntu-Forums.org site and got no help there so I'm
trying here because I dont want to reboot into Win7 to stream videos or listen
to my mp3s.

Here is the client.conf http://pastebin.com/ahWxXB5X

Here is the daemon.conf http://pastebin.com/gRyCsjdb

Running Lubuntu 12.10 with kernel 3.5.0-24-generic. I hope this is
enough info.

[Bug 332975] [NEW] xfce4 menu crash setting custom

2009-02-22 Thread Kreuger Burns
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfdesktop4

I recently updated to the Jaunty beta 4 to play around with it. Back in
Intrepid, I had a custom menu set. I noticed that it moved my menu but
still kept it so whenever I try to set my custom menu by going to the
menu properties, I set the file and then the dialog closes and the menu
disappears from the panel. I can add the menu back but it still uses the
default menu. Every single time I set it to my custom menu, it crashes
and disappears. No errors come up so I have no idea how to help with
this. I have attached the menu so someone can look through and maybe
detect some sort of error?

I tried xdpyinfo | grep dimensions and it showed 1152x864 pixels (322x241

And xdpyinfo | grep resolution shows 91x91dpi. But it made no difference. I
used grandr to switch the resolution to 1024x768 (although I use 1280x1024) and
hit apply but it makes no difference.

[Bug 322021] [NEW] kmix-kde4 crash when changing slider orientation

2009-01-27 Thread Kreuger Burns
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kmix-kde4

When I use Kmix, the mixer goes all the way across the screen. Even if I
try to maximize it or minimize it, I can't get it to fit my screen
(1280*1024) so I keep trying to change the slider orientation to
horizontal hoping it might work better that way and give me a scrollbar
or something to use instead of having to drag the window around however
whenever I choose it and click apply, Kmix will crash saying;

The application KMix (kmix) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV).

I am attempting to install the debug package (slow internet) and then I
will provide a backtrace for it. I'm using Intrepid with kernel 2.6.27

[Bug 217709] [NEW] Hardy beta network manager cant upgrade

Public bug reported:

For a few weeks now Synaptic and Update Manager have told me there's a

know.

network-manager:

[Bug 181522] ndiswrapper - wireless card randomly stopped working

2008-01-09 Thread Kreuger Burns
Public bug reported:

About a week ago my wireless card which is PCMCIA stopped working. The
lights on it don't come on any more and I can't seem to get it detected
by Ubuntu (feisty) at all. I can still get a wired connection so I'm not
sure what's wrong. I thought maybe because I've had trouble sticking the
card into the slot lately that I bent a pin or something but seeing as
it was in for a few days without being removed at all, I can't see how
that could've ruined it. It was working one day and the next it stopped.
It really doesn't make sense to me at all. I didn't change anything at
all on the computer. The only thing I had done is used msn and copied a
few music files from it to my desktop. A couple days later, I checked
the pins and everything and they seemed fine. I tried reinstalling the
drivers using the latest version of ndiswrapper and to no avail. I have
checked all the main things like dmesg, lspci, lshw -C network. It shows
ndiswrapper as being loaded when I do lsmod. The card is Belkin F5D7010
Ver.7000 Wireless G using the net8185.inf Windows drivers (Realtek) as
per this tutorial
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=2402378postcount=16 not sure
what else to do.

Well I deleted those libraries and installed the ones in the repos and
it's still giving me these troubles. I've already removed everything
from my system I could find related to python including a lot of
programs I used and reinstalled them. It did nothing. So I don't think
it's just because I had built the sources myself. I've never had this
problem before, compiling my own libraries otherwise I'd have avoided
it. I will likely reinstall my OS if nobody else has any ideas.

[Bug 125095] gpm notify icon crash

2007-07-10 Thread Kreuger Burns
Public bug reported:

For some reason gnome power manager stopped working. Whenever I try to
run it, the icon shows and then disappears instantly. When I run it from
the terminal it does the same thing with no output. I've tried
reinstalling, fully removing and installing it again and nothing seems
to work. I can run the preferences dialogue from grun but not the
manager to show how much power my battery has. I'm using fluxbuntu
feisty with kernel 2.6.20-16-386

[Bug 114872] Re: Wine won't start speedfan

2007-06-18 Thread Kreuger Burns
I do have lm-sensors setup, but I was running Speedfan just for the hell
of it. It's not very important that it works but some people may prefer
it.

[Bug 74457] Will not start unless via cmdline

2006-12-04 Thread Kreuger Burns
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wine

I'm having problems running anything with wine unless I do so via the
commandline and it seems to output a long error while launching and during use,
especially with Guitar Pro 5 (a lot of it is the same thing repeated though
from the looks of it). I thought it might just be GP5 but I can't seem to
launch anything else through my KMenu (most programs created the links on their
own) so I'm not sure. Anyway, here's what I get.

[Bug 74457] Re: Will not start unless via cmdline

2006-12-04 Thread Kreuger Burns
Oh and all the menu links and everything worked before I upgraded to
Edgy, not sure if that may have caused a problem somewhere or what.
Also, I'm using Edgy (obviously) with KDE 3.5.5, Kernel 2.6.17 and wine
0.9.26~winehq0~ubuntu~6.06-1

[Bug 53287] Re: Konqueror crash opening video

2006-11-19 Thread Kreuger Burns
I tried using gxine, vlc media player and mplayer to play it. It's fine
now. I've also upgraded the kernel too. Not sure if that made a
difference.

[Bug 71520] Crash caused signal 6 SIGABRT

2006-11-12 Thread Kreuger Burns
Public bug reported:

Whenever I try to open any ISO file with kiso, it crashes and says The
application kiso crashed and caused the signal 6 sigabrt. It crashes by
using Konqueror menus (right click, open with - kiso) and opening kiso
itself and just opening the iso through it's menus. I'm running Ubuntu
Edgy, KDE 3.5 and Kernel 2.6.17-10-386.

The backtrace shows:

Yes I'm sorry to say this does still exist for me in 1.4.3. I haven't
checked to see if the backtrace is the same but I would assume so.

[Bug 59276] edit lyrics - crash

2006-09-06 Thread Kreuger Burns
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amarok

Not sure what happens, but whenever I'm viewing lyrics in the side pane
of amarok, and I click edit, it crashes. I can't edit, the screen stays
on the lyrics with the edit tab selected and won't change. The lyrics
then stay like that throughout every song (and don't change for each
song) until amarok is restarted. It only started happening after
upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.4.2
