[Bug 397466] [NEW] There is no KWallet PAM integration
Public bug reported: Currently when logging in to KDE, most people have to type their password twice: Once for KDM and then for KWallet (see also bug 38821). A PAM integration like the one Gnome Keyring has would be great to avoid this. Of course there are still plans to unify all keyring managers one day, but until then a quick hack like the one OpenSuse did for KDE3 would be great. And it seems like somebody called Pierre (pinaraf at pinaraf dot info) ported their package to KDE4 already, the patch is available here: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-develm=124341390013232 ** Affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: kdebase Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: kdebase-runtime (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kwallet pam ** Bug watch added: KDE Bug Tracking System #92845 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92845 ** Also affects: kdebase via http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92845 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Also affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: New -- There is no KWallet PAM integration https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/397466 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-runtime in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 368091] Re: [needs packaging] grails
Just some thoughts: Grails could be quite a beast to package because it ships all the external libraries (Groovy, Spring, ...). I think its only certified/supported by SpringSource for the versions it ships so this might be an issue if Ubuntu ships a modularized Grails and a slightly different version of a package breaks Grails, people complain at SpringSource's JIRA and in the end its a slightly different library version which causes the breakage. But not splitting Grails is out of question I think. This might be an issue or not, whoever goes and packages Grails has to think about it first. The packages above work fine for me BTW (except that its annoying when testing that the Groovy version in Grails is not in sync with the system wide version, see above). -- [needs packaging] grails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368091 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 268734] Re: immediate shutdown after pressing shutdown button
Everybody else just checks for kded and that seems to work fine. Actually, I think thats indeed more correct: If kded is running (ie. somebody is logged into a KDE session), I can assume that KDE takes care of the Power Button event, may it be via PowerDevil or some other app. I never ever want to have somebody accidentally hitting the power button (think of the stupid setup at my university's lab where people never know if the PC right or left of them is the one for their screen) kill my session just because PowerDevil wasn't running for some reason. I prefer the power button not doing anything over it accidentally killing my session. I think (haven't tried though) that the logout block isn't needed because PowerDevil takes care of showing the logout request (on all sessions?). Simples way to go, at least for karmic, would be to just sync acpid /acpi-support/acpi-support-base with the upstream Debian version (IMHO). -- immediate shutdown after pressing shutdown button https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/268734 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hmm. The applet here http://lxr.kde.org/source/playground/base/plasma/applets/networkmanager/applet/connectionlist.cpp#070 067 bool ConnectionList::assessConnections(NetworkManagerSettings * service) 068 { 069 bool added = false; 070 if (service-isValid()) { 071 //kDebug() service-objectName() has connections service-connections(); 072 foreach (QString connectionPath, service-connections() ) { 073 added |= processConnection(service, connectionPath); 074 } 075 } 076 if (added) { 077 emit connectionListUpdated(); 078 } 079 return added; 080 } calls Qt here http://lxr.kde.org/source/qt-copy/src/dbus/qdbusabstractinterface.cpp#301 301 bool QDBusAbstractInterface::isValid() const 302 { 303 return d_func()-isValid; 304 } So I guess d_func() is NULL. [Bug 358325] [NEW] KMail likes to crash on parallel IMAP delete
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdepim I'm not sure if this is the same bug as #318002 because I don't get a backtrace (and can't find drkonqi anyway, some packaging foo?). kdepim- dbg is installed. [Bug 298094] Re: [RS690] Wrong resolution and Nokia 800 Pro+
Sorry, I didn't have time to investigate further (except that adding the lines you wrote didn't help). fglrx worked fine so I didn't have to work on this issue. Until today I upgraded to jaunty where fglrx is obiously broken. Bad news: After I removed every trace of fglrx from my system, both radeon and radeonhd are broken as well. radeonhd displayed a distorted screen, radeon nothing at all. I'll attach the Xorg.logs, both with and without the config lines you posted. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = Confirmed -- [RS690] Wrong resolution and Nokia 800 Pro+ https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298094 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 298094] Re: [RS690] Wrong resolution and Nokia 800 Pro+
I must correct myself: radeonhd works fine, only the radeon driver fails. I originally first removed the fglrx driver, rebooted, radeonhd was autoselected (and failed), uninstalled radeonhd and while doing so noticed that I forgot to remove some fglrx-mesa-stuff. After removing both packages I tried radeon and it failed as described above. Now I re- added radeonhd and everything seems to be fine, looks almost better than the fglrx driver at the first glance. ** Attachment added: Xorg.0.log with radeonhd and without the sync lines (ie. default almost-empty xorg.conf works) http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24413362/Xorg.0.log -- [RS690] Wrong resolution and Nokia 800 Pro+ https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298094 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

@pva: Then you should subscribe to bug 105195 instead; I opened this bug explicitly for the sub-bug of failing installs related to raw devices while installation to a virtual disk works fine. [Bug 216398] Re: default mmap_min_addr breaks dosemu
A small nitpick: As /etc/sysctl.d/README states, the shipped file should be in the 30-* range, not 90-*. -- default mmap_min_addr breaks dosemu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216398 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 300701] [NEW] sysctl.d-file with wrong/missing range
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: wine A small nitpick like in bug 216398: wine installs a file /etc/sysctl.d/wine.sysctl.conf According to /etc/sysctl.d/README it should actually be /etc/sysctl.d/30-wine.conf [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 8.10 Release:8.10 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ apt-cache policy wine wine: Installed: 1.0.1-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 1.0.1-0ubuntu2 Version table: *** 1.0.1-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/universe Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: wine (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- sysctl.d-file with wrong/missing range https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/300701 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 216398] Re: default mmap_min_addr breaks dosemu
It shouldn't be a problem to update the jaunty package, just a small version bump (but don't ask me which part of the version) and everything should be fine. But I'm not the package maintainer, not my decision :) I guess its up to Kees to tell which way to go... -- default mmap_min_addr breaks dosemu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216398 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 300310] [NEW] SDL applications crash X server
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg I'm not sure what should happen when I start an SDL application (like qemu/kvm) under X, but the X server crashing is definitely the wrong choice. From the Xorg.0.log (attached): Backtrace: 0: /usr/bin/X(xf86SigHandler+0x65) [0x480f35] 1: /lib/libc.so.6 [0x7f30fb7e4060] 2: /usr/bin/X(VidModeGetFirstModeline+0x85) [0x485995] 3: /usr/bin/X(VidModeGetNumOfModes+0x42) [0x485a32] 4: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions//libextmod.so [0x7f30fb0fb031] 5: /usr/bin/X(Dispatch+0x364) [0x44d6e4] 6: /usr/bin/X(main+0x45d) [0x4336fd] 7: /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe6) [0x7f30fb7cf466] 8: /usr/bin/X [0x432ad9] Saw signal 11. Server aborting. As you can see from the log I've got some X issues on this system anyway, so it might be a radeon driver bug as well. Might also be related to my other bug 298094. [Bug 298056] Re: XP fails to install in KVM on a LVM block device
As mentioned in bug 105195 did the command kvm -m 512 \ -hda /dev/mapper/lvm-xp \ -cdrom Images/ISO/en_winxp_pro_with_sp2.iso \ -boot d \ -name xp \ -k de \ -vnc :1 successfully install XP (without any reformat-hacks though). So the bug seems to be in virt-install and/or virt-manager, maybe the --os-type and/or --os-variant enables some weird workaround which actually breaks the setup. I'll have a try later. -- XP fails to install in KVM on a LVM block device https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298056 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 298094] Re: Wrong resolution though correct EDID/DDC info exists
This seems to be a bug in the xserver-xorg-video-radeon driver becasue with xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd I get the full resolution (though other bugs like a wrong frequency of only 60 MHz instead of the needed 108 MHz.
