We do have some ideas for improving the sending patches upstream story in lp and hopefully they will get implemented at some point. Ubuntu One's focus is to make it more convenient, access your files from anywhere (including the website), stream your own music, share your files, and well, more to come in that direction. For photos, being able to share them online is highly useful; for financial documents I don't want to share them and there is no useful web view, and I care much more about keeping them confidential. It would be nice if I could use just one tool/service and choose on a per-folder basis whether to encrypt the files. (Of course I realize options have a cost, in development time, complexity, ui, bugs...) It's arguably a dnsmasq/lxc problem that this can occur, but I think the most relevant problem is Launchpad's setuplxc changing my dhclient configuration. I guess this was done so that the host could see launchpad.dev or whatever. It's arguably a dnsmasq/lxc problem that this can occur, but I think the most relevant problem is Launchpad's setuplxc changing my dhclient configuration. I guess this was done so that the host could see launchpad.dev or whatever. Public bug reported: On a Thinkpad x201, on today's Precise: wifi works reliably in general, but under heavy load it will fail: receiving no traffic, but not giving any obvious errors To produce enough load, I started downloading several Ubuntu ISOs from remote servers. This works for a variable period of time, sometimes a few minutes, topping out at 2MB/s, which is about my ADSL peak speed. At moderate load it can work all day, including across suspend/resume cycles, so at least the symptoms are different to bug 948235 and bug 956401, though perhaps the cause is the same. Running 'sudo rmmod iwlwifi sudo modprobe iwlwifi' gets it working again. This seems like it might be a regression but I'm not sure. I'll try an old kernel. Well, I do run chrome a lot, so it does overlap. istr chrome does create some (should be) unmapped windows for its own purposes and perhaps that's not what unity's expecting. Tangentially, it looks like that branch deletes the .cvsignore file and so on, which might be appropriate if you're taking over the branch, but probably not so much if you're contributing a patch to cvs. But that can easily be filtered out when it's applied. We do have some ideas for improving the sending patches upstream story in lp and hopefully they will get implemented at some point. This is definitely improved but not fixed. Most of the time the external monitor comes up ok, but sometimes when I switch a running session on to the external monitor it stays irretrievably blank. Here's a kernel log with debugging on of those transitions. So this could be, and maybe should be, addressed in both lxc and launchpad setuplxc. * launchpad can work around this by just forcing the user's shell back to bash or by installing zsh (which would be slightly nicer for me, and any other users, and make things very slightly slower to download.) * The lxc-ubuntu template probably needs to take care of this some how. I don't know how. Perhaps parsing the pwent line, and installing the right shell?
