[Bug 1532226] Re: No menu bar in gtk apps on fresh boot
Marco, Sebastian: Attached log of a buggy case I got after a few restarts (Marco's ppa enabled). Everything was working for many sessions until this. This case was not 100% identical to the other times I had missing menus, but so similar that it's prolly related. Now the menu headers are there in the panel, but clicking them does not unfold the menu. After starting/stopping a few gtk apps I sometimes don't have any menus at all for them, or alternatively, get the unclickable menu headers. Firefox consistently fully working normal menus. ** Attachment added: "unity-panel-service.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1532226/+attachment/4644173/+files/unity-panel-service.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1532226 Title: No menu bar in gtk apps on fresh boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-notes/+bug/1532226/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1184451] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 random screen freeze while Normal OS activites
I can second what I mentioned elsewhere: This is *not* related to nouveau. Nor is it related to Compiz effects. I get these symptoms maybe 10-20 per day: Screen freezes. Music/sound continues to work. Can move mouse but not click. Keyboard unresponsive. After maybe 10s the system comes back up. The hangs are seemingly random. Maybe slightly more likely to happen when system is under load. But can happen at any given time. I tried under Xfce, Gnome, and Unity. All environments display the symptom. [Bug 868423] Re: Launcher - Workspace switcher should not be in the Launcher by default
Generally I very much like the idea of having advanced window management (or other tools) represent themselves as small apps even though they may really be a shim for some deeper hooks in the shell/wm. [Bug 924353] Re: New Dash Home has different recent apps/files than lenses
The hunch right now is that certain combinations of clear+append on a DeeTransaction can result in a reversal of order. This hinges on the fact that the primary difference between the home screen and lens views is that the lens view goes through a DeeTransaction. [Bug 833610] Re: Impossible to find Banshee in Unity on 11.10 by typing Music
unity-lens-applications indexes the X-GNOME-Keywords field, so that seems like a possibility. Relatedly; I don't think it is a good idea to match in the Categories field via text searches (even though it's a trivial tweak in u-l-a). The Categories contains semantic data and not user content (and is not translated). We could potentially index the Name of the Menu tags in which we find the apps and attach that to the application. [Bug 828582] Re: Dash: very high latency responding to input
Right now Unity itself has a pretty high timeout before sending queries to the lenses. Michal is working on improving the lens side query handling in various ways by tweaking libunity. This should make it possible to do the timeouts inside libunity, that is on the lens-side of things, allowing the lenses themselves to tweak the timeout to their needs. Concretely, I propose: * Lower the timeout in Unity to something very low * Implement another timeout for dispatching LensSearch instances in libunity * Make that timeout in libunity a writable property for Scopes to override to suit their needs ** Changed in: unity Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: unity Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: unity Milestone: None = 5.0.0 ** Changed in: unity Assignee: (unassigned) = Michal Hruby (mhr3) ** Also affects: libunity Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: libunity Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: libunity Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: libunity Milestone: None = 5.0.0 ** Changed in: libunity Assignee: (unassigned) = Michal Hruby (mhr3) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/828582 Title: Dash: very high latency responding to input To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libunity/+bug/828582/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
