[Bug 1875025] Re: Cannot enter password to unlock session

2020-07-04 Thread Pancho Pico
Adding confirmation that this is affecting me as well. Commenting to get
updates and to report that uninstalling light-locker seems to have
worked for me. I also updated to 20.04 from 18.04.

[Bug 1040557] Re: UEFI boot live-usb bricks SAMSUNG 530U3C, np700z5c laptop

2012-11-22 Thread pancho
Hello to everyone,

I have the very similar problem with my new laptop Samsung NP3005C
with Win7 pre-installed. I install ubuntu and after that the laptop is
bricked. In fact, I decided to install ubuntu using all the hard disk
what means that I was not expecting to have a dual boot. Now, neither
linux nor windows is working and the screen is always blac. Could some
one give me an advice? I don't know if I could do something with the
warranty service.

Thanks,

[Bug 911979] Re: No keyboard response when booting with wireless mouse

2012-01-05 Thread Pancho
A bit more of relevant information: As stated, the keyboard works for
entering a password during login, but then quits working after login.
However, if I execute Switch User, the keyboard again works for entering
a password, and continues to work after login.

[Bug 911979] [NEW] No keyboard response when booting with wireless mouse

2012-01-04 Thread Pancho
Public bug reported:

Please see question 183415, which has details, including the appropriate
/var/log/dmesg file.
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+question/183415
When I boot with a wireless mouse, Logitech model M310, the mouse works fine
but there is no response from any key of the keyboard. Keyboard input works for
password entry on login, but stops working after login. Both mouse and keyboard
work with Windows 7, so it's not a hardware problem. Secondly, I put some lines
in my shell resource configuration file to dump the output from dmesg, and that
does not get executed. The same problem was experienced with Lynx, Meerkat,
Narwhal, and now Ocelot.
  Thanks for help.

[Bug 911979] WifiSyslog.txt

2012-01-04 Thread Pancho
apport information

** Attachment added: WifiSyslog.txt

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/911979/+attachment/2658041/+files/WifiSyslog.txt

** Description changed:

[Bug 298154] Re: adept upgrade button does not reenable after fetching current package list

2009-01-14 Thread Pancho
I don't agree with demoting this to low importance. It's surely not of
high importance but is a serious usability bug. Also, it should be an
easy to fix bug, and is obviously 100% reproduceable, so I propose
Medium.

[Bug 155883] Re: Ekiga refuses to start and gives no message at all in terminal

2007-10-28 Thread Pancho
Hi, thanks for helping me out. Killing evolution-data-server did not
help. I tried to test ekiga from the Desktop CD and it worked perfectly!
So I decided to reinstall Gutsy and now everything seems to be ok. I
wonder what caused this disorder. I don't understand why it happened as
I didn't install many things, apart from Automatix2. I hope the problem
won't appear again.

Ekiga's window appears at the end of this process. It takes about 6
minutes to load. I had similar freezes with the Wizard (step 6/10), when
I play around in the options as well as when closing the application. I
think it might be a hardware compatibility issue, like the audio card
perhaps. Although I installed Automatix2, I don't thing it messed
anything that could be the cause of this disorder.

Thanks

I tried to install ekiga with the packages from their web site (feisty though):

Same thing... problem might not be directly ekiga but still, I don't
understand why it refuses to be launched.

2007-10-22 Thread Pancho
Hmmm... looks like it works, but it takes about 5-10 minutes to launch.
I have a fairly recent laptop (AMD Turion64 X2) so it's not a
performance problem. Anyway, ekiga shouldn't take that long to launch,
right?

[Bug 46571] Re: xfce4 doesnt shut down properly

2007-05-24 Thread Pancho
Same problem occurs in Feisty Final with a fresh install. When shutting
down from GDM, usplash appears correctly. When shutting down from xfce,
usplash appears only 1 second before the PC powers off. No hangs,
nothing, just not as pretty as it should be. Hope somebody has an idea,
this bug is pending for a year now!

[Bug 58351] Re: smb4k UTF-8 not supported

2006-09-18 Thread Pancho
Problem has been solved by adding to the following settings into the
[global] section of samba's configuration file /etc/samba/smb.conf:

unix charset = UTF-8
display charset = UTF-8
dos charset = 1255

I hope it helps other people. For Windows users, I have absolutely no
idea.

[Bug 58351] UTF-8 not supported

2006-08-31 Thread Pancho
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: smb4k

I installed smb4k and it works perfectly apart from characters. I have a
remote debian machine with UTF-8. When I access it from
smb://192.168.1.x, characters shows all right. When I mount the
partition with smb4k, accents don't show properly. I tried to select
utf8 in the smb4k configuration but I observed no changes. I search
forums about this problem and I found someone with the same problem but
I didn't find any solution. Please tell me if the problem is about my
configuration, and in that case what I should do, or if the problem
comes because smb4k has not been compilet with utf8 support.

Thanks you very much for your help,
Jean-François
