I'd postponed the maverick upgrade to this weekend, since I didn't have
much time last.

I can confirm the issue (at least in my case) seems to have disappeared
with the maverick upgrade. No crashes in the first 10 minutes of that
video file.

I'm having the same issue. In a specific .mkv file, about 40 seconds in
(and if I skip that, again 1:40 and 2:30 minutes in) the player crashes
with the message 'Aborted'. ?field.comment=I'm having the same issue. In

I've attached a partial backtrace of the thread invoking abort().
Unfortunately, I've been unable to find the package supplying debug
information for /usr/lib/libavcodec.so.52.

Replacing package libavcodec-extra-53 by libavcodec52 moves the issue to
a different timeframe, but does not remove it.
