[Bug 1256701] Re: Screen artifacts in the dash

2013-12-02 Thread Quinn Balazs
This has been an issue for a while. Somewhere there is a massive Unity
bug that includes this and many other graphical annoyances that was
created early in the 13.10 development cycle, which I cannot for the
life of me find right now. I'll keep digging around, but if anyone can
remember what became of it that would be most helpful. If it has
vanished, it might be nice to once again pull any persistent small
graphical issues that were either missed in 13.10, or that have cropped
up since.

Shouldn't this affect nautilus instead of unzip? The mishandling of the

[Bug 1255800] Re: Libreoffice logout ubuntu session

2013-11-28 Thread Quinn Balazs
That is just weird. LightDM writes logs to /var/log/lightdm, which might
contain some information on why this is happening. I'm not sure how to
go about collecting any debug info from LibreOffice, but someone from
the project would be able to tell you how to go about that. Attach the
LightDM logs, and set this back to new and someone will tell you how/if
logs need to be collected from LibreOffice.

[Bug 1253911] Re: Owncloud recommends to install a non-existing package

2013-11-22 Thread Quinn Balazs
bug #1052423 was created to address this, the issue was passed along to
the Debian maintainer, but nothing has been done about it there. This
delta was created because the Debian package doesn't ship ZendX library
addons, which are currently depended upon, and due to unconventionality
of the Debian package's naming, zend-framework conforms to the naming
standards. I don't foresee these lining up anytime soon, the current
solution has been to make anything that depends on zendframework
depend on zendframework|zend-framework. This could be done for
recommends as well, but would be decently labour intensive.

[Bug 1254218] Re: rapt should have bug reporting disabled

2013-11-22 Thread Quinn Balazs
I'd say this would be best addressed in an email to the maintainer's
mailing list, but rapt-hackers don't use a list from launchpad.
Disabling bug reporting will be something that has to be done by the
owner/administrator of the team responsible for the project, but I'm not
sure the proper way, short of directly emailing the administrator, to
get this to the proper end point.

[Bug 1252780] Re: Ubuntu Software Center - unable to download.

2013-11-19 Thread Quinn Balazs
First run sudo apt-get upgrade which will upgrade all packages. If
that doesn't fix the issue you can use sudo apt-get purge libreoffice-
core and sudo apt-get purge libreoffice-base-core and then install
libreoffice-writer, which will grab the correct dependancies. If this
resolves the issue, please comment stating so, and we will close this
issue, if not, we'll take a different look at it.

done so, set the status of this bug back to new.

This is the same issue as bug #1014831, which you also opened. bug

method illustrated in bug #1014831 will remove the file.

Invalid, and refer back to bug #1014831 as for the reasons behind the
invalidity. As was said before, this is not a bug, the file is immutable
in order to prevent indiscriminate removal of the file.

[Bug 1223181] Re: After upgrading to saucy, eclipse crashes in gtk_tree_view_get_background_area+0x8a while debugging

2013-11-12 Thread Quinn Balazs
Symptoms seem to fit bug #1241101. It would be great if you could supply
the problematic frame from a few of the crash logs that have been
produced. We're trying to sweep up and consolidate these issues into one
report to insure that no one's problems get overlooked. Switching from
oxygen to another theme clears up a subset of the issue, but doesn't
seem to work for everyone.

Thanks in advance,

Quinn Balazs

Something does seem a bit strange, so on that basis this is confirmed.
I'm going to take a look at them today, and should have some idea of

If possible, it would be very helpful to have the ~/dmesg and

look at your issue. If you are unable to capture ~/dmesg and Xorg.0.log,
we can still attempt to figure this out, it will just be a bit harder.

[Bug 1248958] Re: Keyboard Touch Cover 2 not working on Surface Pro 2

2013-11-07 Thread Quinn Balazs
I think the issue here is in interpreting the data given by the
keyboard. In your kernel log, there should be a line something like this
hid-multitouch 0003:045E:07A9.. with a hidraw number after it.
If you run # cat /dev/hidraw#, you should see that the keyboard is
indeed spewing data, it just isn't being read correctly. The Microsoft
SAM device that X registers appears to be the windows key capacitive
button, not the keyboard at all. If you get a chance, check that out,
and let us know if there is info produced by the keyboard.

[Bug 1248308] Re: gear menu missing

2013-11-06 Thread Quinn Balazs
Would you mind updating to the final release of 13.10? You seem to be
running the early beta build. If this behaviour still exists in the
official release, change the status of this from incomplete back to
new and if the issue is fixed in the official release, change this
from incomplete to invalid

[Bug 1248681] Re: crashes on installation

2013-11-06 Thread Quinn Balazs
Thanks for making this report, but we don't have enough information to
start working on your issue.

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

[Bug 1248607] Re: 13.10 Intel 6205 WPA2 enterprise wifi drops

2013-11-06 Thread Quinn Balazs
Could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily
folder, but the one all the way at the bottom) following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream
kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this
bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12-rc7

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 1248062] Re: canonicals vision is blurred

2013-11-06 Thread Quinn Balazs
I'm sorry that you do not agree with the direction the project is headed
in. I assure you that no device is more favored than any other, and that
any feature removals / additions come from discussion with the community
at large. We appreciate your opinion, but I can't see this going
anywhere constructive, so this report is now closed. If you'd like to
have people see this, I'd suggest posting it via one of the mailing
lists: https://lists.ubuntu.com/.
