[Bug 1283826] Re: lightdm hangs after updates
Hi, I got a similar problem today after running apt-get dist-upgrade to upgrade to 14.04. After running it my desktop cannot show up when reboot. However, I found I can still use Cirl+Alt+F1 to go to tty1 and login using my user account with root privilege. Then I solved the problem and get my desktop back by running apt-get install ubuntu-desktop lightdm It seems to me the package lightdm has been removed during the dist- upgrade. I don't know what happened though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1283826 Title: lightdm hangs after updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1283826/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It's interesting. I created a new system account, login to ubuntu, configure the uoa, start the empathy, it works.
