[Bug 1359715] Re: Ghostscript runaway memory consumption during font search

2015-01-13 Thread Sidney Li
I ran into the same problem on Mint 17 Cinnamon 64-bit also. The
problem occurs even with /TimesRomanBold. I have installed the gsfonts
and gsfonts-other package (in Synaptic/Apt), but still the same problem.

[Bug 1016181] Re: ath chip reset failed

2013-03-03 Thread Sidney Li
I also have the AR9485, but only started seeing this with kernel
3.5.0-25 amd64. The previous 3.5.0-24 amd64 seems to be okay.

[Bug 794020] [NEW] gnu barcode package error

2011-06-07 Thread Sidney Li
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: barcode

The gnu barcode (0.98) package in Ubuntu 10.04 and 10.10 (and probably
others) does not create a correct codabar barcode. To reproduce, run on
the command line:

 barcode -o test.ps -b 123 -c -e cbr

The appeneded (default) check-digit is A instead of the correct B
character. Binaries compiled from the debian package
(barcode_0.98+debian-9.diff.gz applied to barcode_0.98+debia.org.tar.gz)
produces the correct trailing B character.

[Bug 777112] Re: Notification Area Icon - not working, Ubuntu 11.04, Banshee 2.0.0

2011-05-07 Thread Sidney Li
In Banshee 2.0, go to Edit - Preferences. In the Extensions tab,
almost at the bottom of the list, there is a Notification Area Icon
which is not enabled by default. Enabling this does the trick (at least
for Ubuntu 10.10; haven't tried it on 11.04, but it should work also).

Re: [Bug 777112] Re: Notification Area Icon - not working, Ubuntu 11.04, Banshee 2.0.0

2011-05-05 Thread Sidney Li
Actually I'm still running Ubuntu 10.10; I was trying out Banshee
2.0.0 and ran into the notification area issue. It found the report
on launchpad while searching for a solution, and added my vote, but
I was in a hurry and missed the part about 11.04. Sorry. I just
installed 11.04 on a different partition but haven't had a chance to
really try it out. I'll check to see if Banshee has that problem in
11.04.

[Bug 379985] Re: incorrect rendering of fonts in xmgrace

2009-11-21 Thread Sidney Li
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 325169 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/325169

The problem appears to be fixed in Karmic (at least it works for me),
but there have been reports of other problems with Karmic. YMMV. In
the meanwhile, someone has suggested adding these lines to the
/etc/X11/xorg.conf configuration file, in the Device section (mine
looks like this):

Section Device
Identifier Configured Video Device
Driver intel
Option AccelMethod uxa
Option EXAOptimizeMigration true
Option MigrationHeuristicgreedy
EndSection

(It's been a while so I don't know who to attribute this to). This
might or might not work for you. Good luck!
