Yes, the linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic package did solve the no internal mic issue, but it is still way too quiet. [Bug 490241] [NEW] HP Mini 110-1030nr on UNR no internal Mic, but...
Public bug reported: Most of us already know that the HP Mini 110 series Netbooks are having internal Mic failures. I'm sure the fantastic folks that work for Ubuntu are already on it, so more/less just want to maybe see if this helps... WinD'OHs 7 has released a fix that works with the HP Mini's, as they were having the same problem. I don't know enough about programming, especially not MS's, to give many details, but heres what I found: Win7 7100build released an update for IDT Audio that seems to be based on realtek from what I can tell.
