I have the same thing happen to me with Urban Terror on 9.10. Installing
libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio and remove libsdl1.2-debian-alsa fixed
things.

[Bug 434343] [NEW] xfmedia segfaults as regular user, works as root, libpthread involved(?).

Problem: Running xfmedia as a regular user causes a segmentation fault.
It does work under root though.

gdb says:
