[Bug 1299474] [NEW] Broken keyboard input with non-default layout in Qt5 applications

2014-03-29 Thread Vladimir Savic
Public bug reported:

Changing keyboard layout using indicator applet has no effect on
entering text in qt5 based applications. By default Ubuntu sets English
layout to be default. I've upgraded to 14.04 from 13.10 with this
settings unchanged (English layout was default in 13.10 too).

No matter what I try, qt5 apps keep receiving only English characters.
There are three mode layouts present on this system: Serbian latin,
Serbian cyrillic and Deutsch. None of them works.

Due to not yet that wide adaptation of qt5, I have limited number of
apps to try reproductivity of this issue. Manually built Scribus (text
layout application) 1.5.svn being one and qt5's Designer being the
other. What does work for sure is copy+paste to this apps. If I write
down text in gedit, terminal even, and copy it to qt5 apps, characters
are there. So the bug is really limited to keyboard input.

No other UI toolkit is affected. Tested so far Gtk+ 2/3 and qt4.

Oh, and in case that isn't obvious - affected Ubuntu version: Ubuntu
Trusty Tahr 14.04 (development branch)

[Bug 627134] Re: Ghosts of pointer's past (ruler refreshing problem)

Happens with every theme I can test here. By here I mean - in Ubuntu
Maverick. Clearlooks, Dust, High contrast theme and Ambience all behave
the same.

[Bug 627134] [NEW] Ghosts of pointer's past (ruler refreshing problem)

2010-08-30 Thread Vladimir Savic
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: inkscape

Since upgrade to Maverick, rulers sometimes forget to refresh. It
happens only on plain pointer move over canvas area. Middle mouse button
panning triggers proper ruler repainting, for example. Image is attached
to illustrate the problem.

Probably not inkscape's fault directly, this bug, but so far, I've only
experienced problems there. Please reassign at will.

Regards,
Vlada

2010-08-27 Thread Vladimir Savic
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 623205 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/623205

Nope. Looks like this isn't dupe since what you marked Fix released
(bug #623205) doesn't fix my problem. I still observe vanishing act
after upgrade.

Thank you for your time.

[Bug 621838] Re: Keyboard layout part of indicator applet disappears

2010-08-25 Thread Vladimir Savic
It's not random!
Keyboard layout indicator disappears with key icon (is it called gnome
keyring?) after update manager is closed. I have no idea if it matters - since
I use Maverick, I'm not waiting for Update Manager show me there are updates.
Usually, I start update manager on my own at random times at day.

[Bug 621838] [NEW] Keyboard layout part of indicator applet disappears

2010-08-21 Thread Vladimir Savic
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-applet

I can't really figure out under what circumstances applet disappears. It really
puzzles me...
Vanishing act seems to happen at random times without crash notice.
Unfortunately, the only proof I have is a screenshot.

visually, but I experience inability to change volume by hovering over
