Im affected from this issue too. Samke error message when i wan't to
execute sudo apt-get upgrade / -f install.

Unfortunately I haven't the opportunity to install the current developer image. 
But I tried to reproduce the issue again at: Linux host 2.6.24-21-generic #1 
SMP Tue Oct 21 23:43:45 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

Description: VLC preferences are on the default values except of the
advanced option video - output modules - XVideo - Use Shared Memory
is unset. After watching a DVD for a while and an other window tries to
overlay vlc, xserver crashs and restarts. If Use Shared Memory is set,
everything works fine.

Tried: 
- Set option Use Shared Memory -- solved
- Generate new xor.conf file with RandS 
- Reinstallation VLC
- Memtest, no errors

 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 111317] OOffice crash with doc files

Each .doc file let OpenOffice 2.2.0 in Ubuntu Feisty Fawn crash. There is no 
output in the shell. 
Blank doc Files created on OOffice couldn't be opened. There was a similar bug 
with the ID #4409. Reinstallation of OOffice Writer didn't help.
