[Bug 1909846] [NEW] firefox 84.0 lagging a lot

i dual booted ubuntu 20.04 a week ago. but just after 2-3 days, firefox started 
lagging and a lot. by lagging , i mean when i open a new tab it opens but 
doesn't show on the screen that it has. when changing opened tabs it doesn't 
show till i change 2 or more tabs (sometimes it doesn't even do that). when i 
type something in address bar it doesn't show anything until i press enter and 
it shows everything on that website. same problem with scrolling.

1.boot using live cd
2.mount your linux root partition in /mnt
mount -t extX  /dev/sdaX  /mnt
3.now bind necessary system directories
mount --bind /sys /mnt/sys
mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev
mount --bind /proc /mnt/proc
4.now chroot to /mnt

   4. Scroll to the end of the linux /boot/vmlinuz line. If displayed,
 remove quiet and/or splash. Add the word single to the end of the
 line.
   5. Press CTRL-X to boot to the Recovery menu.

Try this

You can modify fstab with noauto,nouser options so the xp partitions are not
mounted automatically
during boot time and users cannot mount it.
