Re: [Bug 532863] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite A200] suspend/resume failure
Dear Jeremy, I downloaded an ISO for Ubuntu 10.04 RC and installed it on my USB as a liveUSB. After booting off of the USB successfully, I was able to suspend and resume 3 times without any problem. Cheers, Matthew Dubins On 10-04-27 06:49 PM, Jeremy Foshee wrote: inkhorn, It should not be necessary to install. You should be able to use the daily liveCD build available at cdimage.ubuntu.com to boot, suspend/resume and report here if it was successful. Re: [Bug 532863] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite A200] suspend/resume failure
Dear Jeremy, I currently have Xubuntu 10.04 RC installed on my laptop (dual booting with Ubuntu 9.10 as my main OS). Would it be helpful for me to try suspending from Xubuntu, or should i install Ubuntu 10.04 RC? Also, I maintain a linux blog where I usually post about getting things done in Ubuntu or linux in general. I wrote about a workaround to this suspend issue on my blog, and have attached a google analytics report showing web traffic metrics to that specific blog entry page. Take a look at it and see if it helps you at all in your approach to this issue. Thanks for getting back to me, Matthew Dubins On 10-04-26 11:25 PM, Jeremy Foshee wrote: Hi inkhorn, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 532863 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. [Bug 532863] [NEW] [TOSHIBA Satellite A200] suspend/resume failure
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 and I believe ever since I installed a the lastest linux kernel update available for Ubuntu I haven't been able to put my laptop into suspend mode. Every time I try to put it into suspend mode it blacks out the screen and just hangs indefinitely until I press the power button long enough for the power to be cut from my laptop. ProblemType: KernelOops Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from resuming properly. [Bug 419328] Re: [i945gme] attaching external monitor: laptop display is black, external monitor too, with frozen mouse coursor
I also have this problem (using a laptop with an Intel GMA 945 graphics controller). I can confirm that no crash happens with the following sequence: Boot laptop with external monitor unplugged, Disable visual effects, Plug in the monitor, Type xrandr --auto in Terminal, Go to Display Prefs, Turn laptop monitor off, Keep external monitor on/Set external monitor to max resolution, Fini! Now how can I get the external monitor plugged in without having to go through this process? -- [i945gme] attaching external monitor: laptop display is black, external monitor too, with frozen mouse coursor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/419328 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
