try the suggestion I made. it worked for me is all I can say. I hear reports that it doesn't work on all machines,but then everyone has set their machine up differently. Easy fix. I forgot to mention i am using 9.10 UNR Karmic.. it instals pulse audio by default. the thing I did worked tho..
