[Bug 158439] Re: Greek Polytonic deadkeys don't work due to gtk limitation
I have moved on to eeebuntu 2.0 which is based on ubuntu 8.10 with some hardwarespecific modifications. Just tested it in several gtk and non gtk applications (gnome-terminal, Open Office, gedit, Firefox, Notecase a.o.) and everything seems to be working fine now. άὰἀἁἄἃἅἂᾴᾲᾀᾁᾄᾃᾅᾂᾶᾳᾱᾰᾷ ... etc. -- Greek Polytonic deadkeys don't work due to gtk limitation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158439 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 158439] Re: Greek Polytonic keyboard doesn't work!
Oh yes, it is still an issue! And I do believe it's not just an issue for me, but for everyone, isn't it? I am still waiting for Simos Xenitellis' patch to find it's way into the distros! (see post above 2008-03-07) The workaround he he mentions in the same post I havent been able to get to work. Still only few combinations work: άὰᾳᾶᾷᾴᾲ the rest do not. Is there still hope? -- Greek Polytonic keyboard doesn't work! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158439 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 158439] Greek Polytonic keyboard doesn't work!
Public bug reported: This may be related to Bug #21767. The greek polytonic keyboard-layout when set from 'System Preferences Keyboard' does not work properly. I am able to switch between the Danish (as default) and Greek (Polytonic) keyboard layouts without problems and most of the letters do seem to work ok in the greek layout, but several of the accents do not. The spiritus asper and lenis do work but the rest (tilde, subscript iota, grave and acute accents) do not. I have tested this on a single installation on a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro v3205 and was unable to find any solution to this problem. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Greek Polytonic keyboard doesn't work! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158439 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Maybe I should add, that the danish keyboard layout works perfectly, including the special characters and all accents. -- Greek Polytonic keyboard doesn't work! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158439 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
