Its the community that decides which is OFFTOP and which is ONTOPIC.
Not the admin. The admin just executes what the community feels.

IMO (I am *not* a mailing list admin), this is perfectly fine to be
discussed here.

Well pardon me, but AFAIK jaunty isn't an LTS release.. Ubuntu 10.04 is, but it
isn't out yet.. And probably won't be until april 2010.

Hello,

8.04 is a long term stable release, it is good if you're facing issues
with certain types of hardware eg. Intel video cards. Jaunty has a lot
of new features and new versions of software compared to 8.04 and is
the new long term release.

If you can live with slightly older versions of software in lieu of
stability with your hardware setup then I would recommend 8.04.
Otherwise Jaunty is fine.

Ritesh

[ubuntu-in] How to do dual boot install of Ubuntu on Mac

2009-06-22 Thread madanabhat27
Hi folks,
Thanx for all the help you've provided me but I have this question, How to
safely dual boot Ubuntu and Mac OS X on a MacBook Pro 15 inches? (the reason I
ask this question is coz in my college they require all their students to buy a
laptop and they only allow mac and windows laptops. And windows laptops are
JUST PLAIN UNSAFE, so I have only one option and that is a Mac)
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Yours,
KMB
